NCW probes lady doc death

Six months after lady doctor Madhabilata Pradhan died under mysterious circumstances at Puri, the National Commission for Women (NCW) on Thursday began its probe blamed the state government of hushing up the case."The government is trying to suppress the case because of involvement of a ruling party MLA," alleged NCW member Charu Walikhanna after interacting with Pradhan's family at its native Brahmagiri. She said the MLA got her transferred from Rebena Nuagaon to Kanas (both in Puri district), causing her mental trauma and death. The state Crime Branch is probing the case. Her body is yet to be found. Brahmagiri MLA Sanjay Dasburma, who had earlier denied charges, said, "I do not want to make any comment as the case is sub judice." Pradhan's brother had moved Orissa HC seeking his sister's body and a CBI probe.
