A group of petrol heads caused chaos in Central London last night as a large number of high performance cars met up for a cruise.  Several of the cars entertained the gathered crowds by performing burnouts.  Videos from the scene showed plumes of smoke while the audio captured the sound of engines revving.  Some petrolheads enjoy doing 'burnouts', which involve spinning the back wheels of the car while standing on the brakes to prevent the car from shooting forward.  If there is more space, the driver might start doing doughnuts, spinning the car around in circles.  Witnesses said there were a large number of police officers who witnessed the reckless behaviour but did not intervene directly.  Performing burnouts or doughnuts on the public road places the driver at risk of a charge of dangerous driving.  Also, because the tyres are often destroyed or damaged while performing the stunt, this can lead to additional penalty points.   more videos Police swarm outside Harrods as

China has hit out at Australia's plans to develop advanced hypersonic missiles with the US - labelling the strategy a 'potential threat' to the Asian superpower.  The Morrison government announced on Tuesday plans to build and test the high-tech cruise missiles that can travel at five times the speed of sound and sink aircraft carriers.  The missiles, designed to be fired from fighter jets, will be capable of flying the distance between Sydney and Melbourne in seven minutes.  Defence contractors are expected to take five to 10 years to complete the project, but the proposal prompted fierce backlash from state-controlled Chinese newspaper The Global Times. An investigation has been launched into how two international travellers dodged hotel quarantine and boarded a domestic flight, sparking a new coronavirus scare for dozens of passengers.   Travellers on a Virgin flight from Sydney to Melbourne on Saturday have been ordered to self-isolate immediately after Victorian authorities discovered two Germans on the flight failed to quarantine in New South Wales. Questions have now been raised as to how the pair avoided the compulsory 14 day quarantine at the heavily guarded Sydney International Airport, as NSW Police investigate whether they gave false information to authorities.
