'This reeks of a shady deal': Fury as Cuomo impeachment is SUSPENDED by NY State Assembly after his resignation over sex pest scandal -leaving the door open for him to seek re-election in 2022

The NY State Assembly has suspended its impeachment investigation into Andrew Cuomo in a move that has sparked suspicion of a 'shady deal' between the outgoing governor and New York Democrats that both satisfies public calls for his head while allowing him to preserve his career.   Cuomo resigned on Tuesday, before the Assembly could launch an impeachment trial that would not only block him from running again but would stop him from claiming his pension.  Others had wanted the impeachment proceedings to continue, claiming he should be stopped from seeking office again because of the nursing home scandal and the sexual harassment claims against him.  The committee launches its investigation in March. It had 6 Republicans and 14 Democrats.  But on Friday, Carl Heastie - the NY State Assembly Speaker who was overseeing the investigation - said it had been suspended. He said it came to the attention of the committee that the legislature 'couldn't impeach' an official wh

Love cheat ex-minister Matt Hancock hits the surf in Cornwall two months after his affair with aide forced him to resign... and his wife is seen (separately) in the same resort

For weeks, he's been riding out the waves of public anger by keeping a low profile as he tries to avoid political wipeout. So it's no surprise that Matt Hancock has sneaked off to Cornwall – where he was spotted splashing around in the surf on a body board. The disgraced former health secretary, 42, was forced to quit the Cabinet in June when CCTV from his Whitehall office was leaked of him kissing his married aide Gina Coladangelo in breach of Covid social-distancing guidance.  In the wake of the scandal, he reportedly told his wife Martha that their marriage was over and announced he would be spending time away from the spotlight to focus on his three children. REVEALED: Texas House Sergeant-at-Arms and cops are searching for the runaway Democrats' at their HOMES to serve arrest warrants

Texas House Sergeant-at-Arms Michael Black is going door to door to round up Democrats in the Lone Star State in an effort to reach quorum so the legislature can vote on election security, according to KXAN.  The House needs two-thirds of its members present to hold a vote, but Democrats have refused to show up, with nearly 60 fleeing to Washington, DC last month in a flashy display of defiance.  Local law enforcement is also assisting in the search, and if they find any lawmakers they can take them into custody and bring them to the Texas House chamber.  Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan signed the civil arrest warrants of 52 Democrats who remained absent from business on Wednesday, and Black delivered their arrest warrants at the Capitol. The decision was approved after the Texas House voted 80-12 to move forward with the arrests for absent members, which enabled Phelan to issue the warrants. It's the second time that such a vote has been taking during ongoing quorum-bust.  The Tex

Nicki Minaj is SUED by woman her husband was convicted of trying to rape in 1995: Victim claims the star harassed her and tried to pay her $500k to change her story

Singer Nicki Minaj and her husband are being sued by the woman he was convicted of trying to rape in 1995, who claims the couple had harassed her and offered to pay her hundreds of thousands of dollars to recant her story.  Minaj's now-husband, Kenneth 'Zoo' Petty, was accused of sexually assaulting the woman in Jamaica, Queens, when they were both 16 years old in 1994. Petty was convicted of attempted rape a year later.  The conviction forces Petty to register as a sex offender, but he failed to do so in the state of California when he moved there with Minaj, and he was arrested in March 2020. Victim Jennifer Hough, now 43, claims Minaj and Petty began harassing her immediately after Petty was arrested, and tried to get her to recant her testimony. In a lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court in Eastern New York, Hough says she 'has not worked since May of 2020 due to severe depression, paranoia, constant moving, harassment and threats from the defendants and their a

Death-row inmate who murdered store clerk by stabbing him 29 times after robbing him of $1 files lawsuit demanding that his pastor is allowed to lay his hands on him during lethal injection execution

A Texas death-row inmate scheduled to be executed on September 8 has sued state prison officials demanding that his pastor be allowed to lay hands on him as he dies from a lethal injection. John Henry Ramirez, 37, a former Marine and a devout Protestant, has been on death row since 2009 for stabbing Pablo Castro 29 times with a serrated knife in a grizzly murder in Corpus Christi on July 19, 2004.   For Protestants, the laying of hands is a symbolic act in which a religious leader places their hands on a person to confer a spiritual blessing.   The legal action - filed on Tuesday - asked a judge to allow Pastor Dana Moore, who has been Ramirez's spiritual advisor since 2016, to be present in the death chamber at his execution and lay his hands on Ramirez as he dies.  Denying this symbolic religious gesture is a violation of Ramirez's first amendment right, according to the lawsuit.   Death-row inmate John Henry Ramirez, pictured here during a 2018 prison interview with the BBC,

Obsessions of a maniac who called himself the Terminator: Plymouth gunman posted videos on YouTube of himself pumping iron and ranting about his life before going on murder spree

Staring intensely into the camera, Jake Davison signed off his final video on YouTube with the chilling words: 'I am a Terminator.' Within weeks, the 22-year-old virgin would enact his bloody fantasies with appalling consequences. In a 12-minute rampage, the gunman murdered his own mother and four strangers, including a three-year-old girl. The gun massacre – the worst in a decade in the UK – left Plymouth residents questioning how a loner with seemingly serious mental health problems was allowed to have a firearms licence. Shockingly, it emerged yesterday that the behaviour of the apprentice crane operator had been of concern for some time to those close to him, including his mother Maxine and father Mark – who had reportedly begged the NHS for help and even allegedly contacted the police saying he should not be allowed to keep a gun. Within hours of the shootings, disturbing videos emerged online in which the 17-stone weightlifter moaned about being 'defeated in life'

Media exec whose family owned a host of Midwest TV stations pleads guilty in college admissions scandal after paying Rick Singer $525,000 to get her children into Georgetown and University of Southern California

A media executive has agreed to plead guilty to participating in the college admissions fraud scandal after she paid $525,000 to win admission for her children to top universities. Elisabeth Kimmel, the former owner and president of San Diego-based Midwest Television, had been scheduled to go to trial in September in Boston alongside three other wealthy parents charged in the nationwide 'Varsity Blues' scandal. Kimmel, 57, will instead become the 32nd parent to admit to their role in the entangled scheme that ensnared dozens of multi-millionaires and several celebrities hoping to use their money and influence to give their kids an unfair advantage.  Prosecutors said Kimmel paid California college admissions consultant William 'Rick' Singer $275,000 in 2012 to help win her daughter a place at Georgetown University as a tennis recruit, with the help of coach Gordon Ernst. Kimmel also paid Singer $250,000 in 2017 to help her son get into the University of Southern Californ

Gallerist says Hunter Biden's art openings will be by 'invitation only' and defends the $500K price tag because it signifies his 'heroic journey' - despite auctioneer's claim there has been 'NO discussion in the market'

Georges Bergès, owner of Georges Bergès Gallery, said Hunter Biden's 'heroic journey' is reflected in his artworks   Georges Bergès, the gallerist representing Hunter Biden as he dips into the professional art world, is defending the hefty price tag set for some of the president's son's pieces as top figures in the art world shrug off his debut.  'I saw a lot of the positive qualities that have defined his life in his art - the heroic journey that comes from stumbling and falling and then rising up,' Bergès said in an interview published Friday. 'His art is full of hope.' That hope comes at a cost - the works will be sold at prices ranging from $75,000 to $500,000 for larger pieces. The sales will occur 'anonymously' after exhibitions in Los Angeles and at Georges Bergès Gallery in New York City's trendy SoHo neighborhood - both attended by Hunter.  Bergès confirmed to the New York Times that those events will be invitation-only and '
