'We should bill for the Ruby Princess': Astonishing war of words erupts between premiers Gladys Berejiklian and Mark McGowan as she demands Western Australia cough up $8million for coronavirus quarantine

Mark McGowan has fired back at Gladys Berejiklian after she claimed his state owed New South Wales $8million for quarantining WA residents. The WA premier accused Ms Berejiklian of making the demand to distract from the 'serious corruption' scandal which came out at last week's Independent Commission Against Corruption investigation. He said the move by the NSW government would be 'outside the national agreement that was reached at national cabinet'. 'If I was unkind, I would say maybe we should send a bill to the NSW government for the Ruby Princess and all the trauma that caused other states,' Mr McGowan said. Canadian-American magician 'Amazing' James Randi, who once escaped a locked coffin and a straitjacket while dangling over Niagara Falls before becoming America's skeptic-in-chief, dies at 92

James Randi, a magician who later challenged spoon benders, mind readers and faith healers with such voracity that he became regarded as the country's foremost skeptic, has died, his foundation announced. He was 92. The James Randi Educational Foundation confirmed the death, saying simply that its founder succumbed to 'age-related causes' on Tuesday. 'He had an Amazing life. We will miss him,' the foundation wrote.  Entertainer, genius, debunker, atheist Randi, who was dubbed the Harry Houdini of his day, was them all. He began gaining attention not long after dropping out of high school to join the carnival. He began his career in the 1940s as an illusionist and escape artist. In one of his first major performances, he sprang himself from a Quebec jail cell, a local newspaper dubbed him 'L’Étonnant Randi', which means the Amazing Randi. As the Amazing Randi, he went on to escape from a locked coffin submerged in water and a straitjacket while he dangled ove

Santa Claus is NOT coming to town! Macy's won't have St. Nick greeting kids in its flagship NYC store, breaking tradition for the first time in 160 years

Macy's said Santa Claus won't be greeting kids at its flagship New York store this year due to the coronavirus, interrupting a holiday tradition started nearly 160 years ago. More than a quarter of a million people come to see Santa at Macy´s in New York each year, the company said, making it hard to create a safe environment during a pandemic.  Before taking a picture with the jolly old man, crowds walk in tight quarters through a maze-like Santaland filled with Christmas trees, running toy trains and elves in green costumes. Santa also won't be showing up at its Chicago and San Francisco stores, which have similar Santalands. But he will still appear at the end of the televised Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, the company said. There will be no Santa Claus sightings at Macy's in New York City this holiday season Santa Claus has been a pillar of the company's flagship store for over a century and a half With the coronavirus still raging, stores and malls are hav

Canada launches pilot program that will allow travelers to cut down on their quarantine time by at least a week by getting two tests and daily check-ins

Alberta Premier Jason Kenney announced on Thursday that people coming to Canada could leave quarantine if they tested negative for COVID-19 The Canadian government and the province of Alberta are launching a pilot program to test eligible returning travelers for COVID-19, allowing them to leave quarantine once they receive a negative result, Alberta Premier Jason Kenney said on Thursday. The move could potentially bring relief to the country's struggling airline and tourism industries, which have lobbied the federal government to ease travel restrictions and a strict 14-day quarantine rule. Canadian citizens, permanent residents, foreign nationals allowed entry into Canada and essential workers with no symptoms can volunteer to get tested at the Calgary International Airport and one land border crossing starting Nov. 2. Such passengers can then leave quarantine once they receive a negative result, as long as they commit to getting a second test six or seven days after their arrival

The 2016 deposition that Ghislaine DIDN'T want you to read: Maxwell 'pounds' interview table in rage as she admits to intimacy with Epstein but denies underage orgies - and says Bill didn't visit Pedo Island and there was no 'basket of sex toys'

Ghislaine Maxwell admitted she had an intimate relationship with Jeffrey Epstein in a bombshell 2016 deposition released today, but refused to discuss their sex life as she dodged questions about orgies, underage girls and Prince Andrew.  The 418-page document was released Thursday morning after Maxwell's attorneys fought tooth and nail to keep the deposition private. It stems from a defamation lawsuit brought against Maxwell from Epstein accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre.   Over the course of the heated deposition, Maxwell repeatedly lashed out against Giuffre's lawyers, tried to object to questioning and at one point pounded her fist on the table. After the fit, she remarked: 'Can we be clear, I didn't threaten anybody.'    The combative Maxwell continually denied all wrongdoing. She refused to answer questions about her sex life with Epstein, denied she participated in orgies and rebuffed questions about underage girls, including a 13-year-old, being in Epstein

'Everything Virginia Roberts says is a lie': Prince Andrew repeatedly told Ghislaine Maxwell his sex accuser was untruthful, court documents reveal

Prince Andrew repeatedly labelled his sex accuser Virginia Roberts 'a liar', claiming 'everything she said is a lie', new court documents revealed last night. The claim was made by Ghislaine Maxwell, the Duke's longtime friend – now accused of being a madam for billionaire paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. The exchange was in a previously unknown phone call between the two as scandal swirled around them when Miss Roberts, Epstein's former 'sex slave', made bombshell claims she was forced to sleep with the prince. It came out in a 465-page deposition that Maxwell, 58, had fought tooth and nail to keep under wraps before a court ordered it be released.  The names of all of those in Epstein's circle, including Prince Andrew, were redacted but previous accounts given by Epstein victims, plus an index at the back of the papers, allow them to be identified.
