Two states, two VERY different COVID tactics.... but the same depressing result: California ordered strict lockdowns, while Florida 'trusted common sense' and now both have nearly identical case rates, hospitalizations and deaths

Since the first cases of coronavirus were identified in the U.S., California and Florida have stood out for taking very different approaches to the crisis. Over the course of the last year, California Gov Gavin Newsom has ordered businesses such as bars and indoor dining in restaurants to be shut down due to a rising number of cases and hospitalizations, and has imposed mask mandates. The state's schools have also been largely remote since March and most residents are under lockdown orders. By comparison, Florida Gov Ron DeSantis has issued very few closures, lifting restrictions bars, restaurants and virtually every other business in September. DeSantis has refused to shut down schools statewide and has said a mask mandate is 'off the table.' Two months ago, he even criticized states like California with harsher restrictions and said he trusted his residents to 'use common sense'. 'How has that worked out in the states that have done it?... What about all these

'I was duped by Trump!' QAnon Shaman 'regrets' Capitol invasion as his lawyer says ex-president's failure to issue a pardon was a 'betrayal' by the man who 'led him down the primrose path' - so how many more rioters will claim the same?

The man dubbed the 'QAnon Shaman' has claimed through his attorney that he was 'duped' by Donald Trump into participating in the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol. Jacob Anthony Chansley, 33, is being held without bail on federal charges in Phoenix, and on Friday his attorney told DailyMail.com that Trump's failure to pardon him was a 'betrayal.'  In what could signal a defense strategy for many of the people ensnared after the Capitol riots, the attorney of the 'Shaman' essentially is laying the blame at Trump's feet, saying his client was merely following the instructions of the former president.  As of Friday, at least 93 individuals have been charged in connection with the riot, according to DOJ records.  'Mr. Chansley is not alone.
