The narky note left on a driver's windscreen by their neighbour - because they left them TOO much room to get out

It's not unusual for drivers to bicker over parking when someone doesn't leave enough room for other cars to get out. But too much room?

A woman from Rockdale, in Sydney, shared a photo to Facebook of a narky note left stuck on her car, in which a neighbour claims she parked too far from other vehicles.

The note moaned that if she had parked closer to another car, there would have been enough space for one more vehicle.

Taking up too much space when you park (as shown in this stock photo) is as frustrating for others as not leaving them space to move

'Dear owner, parking three metres from a vehicle, leaving a three metre gap means you are effectively robbing a neighbour/resident of a parking spot.'

'Think about it...'

'Some coward put this on my car,' she posted on Facebook.

She had what she called a 'common sense' defence of the way she parked.

'For what it's worth, cars and trucks come and go in our street all the time.'

'So perfectly reasonable parking can inadvertently look selfish, when a large vehicle parked in front of you leaves and is replaced by a tiny one.'

'If you're planning on leaving a narky note on your neighbours car, at least have the decency to sign it,' she wrote.

The woman did not post a photo of her park on Facebook.

It's a good example that things are not always what they seem. In the Facebook thread, others agrees:

'You are right- cars and trucks come and go all the time, so what was a tight park turns into one more space in front and behind. Not anyone's fault! And certainly no need for a note.'

Move it mate! How did this Canberra driver end up taking up two parking spaces?

Another noted that motorbikes leaving small spaces than also create the impression that the car left behind has parked badly.

Few parking blunders look as bad as drivers who appear to take up two side-by-side spaces by parking across a parking bay line, instead of inside it.

Even this can also be the result of the same kinds of false impressions mentioned above.

That didn't appear to be the case though with a ute spotted hogging two spaces outside a Canberra Woolworths recently - the driver was still sitting inside the vehicle, so probably hadn't been there long enough for cars around him to leave.

The thoughtless driver's parking was also posted to Facebook.

Then there's the inexplicable example of how a four wheel drive managed to take up not two, but four spaces on the Gold Coast, which also made it to Facebook.
