'St Andrew of COVID is milking his 15 minutes': Former Cuomo aide writes blistering attack calling him a 'snarling dog' who is lapping up the limelight of the crisis

Alexis Grenell used to work as Cuomo's deputy director of intergovernmental affairs when he was New York's Attorney General A former Cuomo aide has written a blistering attack on the New York Governor, calling him 'St Andrew of COVID' and claiming he is lapping up the limelight at a time when the entire world is in crisis. Alexis Grenell used to work as Cuomo's deputy director of intergovernmental affairs when he was New York's Attorney General.  In an article published by The Nation on Friday, she said that while he'd 'undeniably' shown good leadership at the start of the year, he has since descended into being snarky and argumentative. She used his recent outburst at journalists who had asked him if schools would be open the next day as an example, calling it the kind of 'tantrum' he was known for throwing before the pandemic turned him into a hero.   'Cuomo undeniably offered a vision of competent, humane government at the height of th

America's first black cardinal hopes to have a 'positive' relationship with Catholic Joe Biden despite disagreeing on abortion - after blasting Trump for tear gassing protesters to pose with a Bible outside a church

The Catholic Archbishop of Washington DC says he hopes to have a positive relationship with President-elect Joe Biden.   Wilton Gregory - who has just been nominated by Pope Francis to become America's first black cardinal - made the remarks from Rome, where he is currently quarantining ahead of his meeting with the Pope.  'I want to begin whatever conversations ensue in a positive vein, rather than in an adversarial mode,' Gregory told CBS This Morning on Friday.  Biden will be the country's second Catholic president, and the first in more than half a century. John F. Kennedy, who served as Commander-in-chief from 1960 until his assassination in 1963, has been the only Catholic to hold America's highest office.  The President-elect is a devout Catholic, who attends Mass each Sunday and frequently references his faith in his public speeches and interviews.  Gregory says that while he and Biden may disagree on some fundamental issues - including abortion - he hopes t

The Rolling Stones relaxing with drinks – a bottle for Keith Richards – at DJ-driven Danceteria in 1980. The Ramones and Richard Hell performing at punk playground CBGB in 1977.  New York City was a hive of artistic endeavors in the 1970s and '80s that buzzed throughout its vibrant nightlife where celebrities, glitterati and hopefuls performed and played at chic clubs and Downtown dives where decadence and drugs were plentiful.  And photographer Allan Tannenbaum was there to chronicle it all.
