REVEALED: MacKenzie Bezos' investment banker father was barred by the SEC for 'squandering his clients' money with his lavish spending' when she was a teenager

MacKenzie Bezos' father was barred by the SEC in the late 80s after allegedly squandering his clients' money with his 'lavish spending', forcing their family to give up their charmed life in California and move to Florida to live more humbly, it has been revealed.  Bezos, who now goes by the name MacKenzie Scott after her divorce from Amazon founder Jeff, was 17 when her father, Jason Baker Tuttle, was exposed for having depleted his clients' funds. Until then, she had grown up in extreme wealth in California. Her family had two homes - one in San Francisco's Pacific Heights and another in the more rural Marion County - and she attended Hotchkiss, a boarding school in Connecticut.  In 1987, her father filed personal bankruptcy, and filed bankruptcy on behalf of his investment firm, The J. 'If you don't, I won't forget it': Trump's threat to Bill Barr to charge Joe Biden and Obama over spygate - and he wants Hillary Clinton indicted too

President Donald Trump said in a televised interview that he has spoken to Attorney General Bill Barr about the high-stakes Durham probe and received assurances the government has 'plenty' of evidence to bring charges against his main political rivals. He made the extraordinary statement – which if accurate would be a breach of normal firewalls between prosecutors and the executive in a politically charged investigation – in an appearance on the Fox Business Network, where he also pronounced himself cured of the coronavirus. The Justice Department did not immediately respond when asked to confirm the president's characterization of his conversation with Barr.    President Donald Trump said Thursday he has spoken to Attorney General Bill Barr about the evidence in John Durham's probe fo alleged FBI misconduct, and said if the government doesn't bring charges 'I won't forget it' Trump also repeatedly blasted Hillary Clinton for her email scandal that was a

Fort Hood soldiers reveal how they were sexually harassed and assaulted at the embattled base - but say they were discouraged from filing reports and never received justice

Several Fort Hood soldiers are speaking out to claim they were sexually harassed and assaulted at the base and demand justice during the military's #MeToo movement. The embattled Killeen, Texas base came under scrutiny following the April disappearance of soldier Vanessa Guillen, 20, who vanished after she told her family she was being sexually harassed at the base.  Her remains were found on June 30. Her killer, soldier Spc. Aaron Robinson, 20, took his own life as police honed in on him on July 1, according to a federal complaint. Since then, several investigations have been opened into the base, the deaths and disappearances there, and how command handles reports of sexual harassment.   Maria Valentine said she was just months into her training at Fort Hood in 2006 when a sergeant with a history of alleged harassment wrote her up after she complained that she didn't want him touching her during body mass measurements.  Fort Hood victims of sexual harassment and assault are s

Furious row erupts as controversial TV star Kerri-Anne Kennerley is cast in a major musical with a black American performer who was brought in from overseas - despite an abundance of Aussie talent desperate for work

Australian actors claim they have been snubbed after an American performer was cast in Pippin alongside controversial former TV broadcaster Kerri-Anne Kennerley.  The lineup for the hit Broadway musical - due to take to the stage at Sydney Lyric Theatre next month - sparked criticism when it was announced on Thursday.  Some social media users were furious to learn Kennerley would play the role of Grandma Berthe next to a black performer. American actress Gabrielle McClinton has been cast as the lead ringmaster in the show. She has previously played the role on Broadway. Kerri-Anne Kennerley (pictured in August last year) has been cast as Grandma Berthe in Pippin But the union for Australian performers quickly criticised production company Gordon Frost Organisation for choosing McClinton instead of homegrown talent during the coronavirus pandemic. 'The decision to cast an international actor to play the lead in a new production of the musical Pippin is another snub of the enormous

Mitch McConnell says he hasn’t gone near White House since August because Donald Trump and his aides refused to wear masks or socially distance

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell admitted he hasn't been to the White House in two months because of President Donald Trump and his aide's refusal to take COVID-19 precautions.   'I haven't actually been to the Whtie House since August the 6th,' McConnell said in Kentucky Thursday, according to NBC News. 'Because my impression was that their approach to how to handle this is different from mine and what I suggested that we do in Senate, which is wear a mask and practice social distancing.'  McConnell said some people are 'paying the price' for not heeding public health warnings.  Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Thursday that he hadn't gone to the White House in two months because Donald Trump and his aides didn't wear masks nor practice social distancing, which the Kentucky Republican recommends  President Donald Trump has been resistant to wear a mask since April, when the CDC first recommended Americans put them on. 'We weren't rushing in there to check': How cops purposely took their time before checking to see if Breonna Taylor was 'done' after shoot-out

Newly released bodycam footage shows the moment Louisville cops told SWAT team officers they believed Breonna Taylor was dead but said they weren't 'rushing in to check', moments before they cleared her apartment as she lay motionless on the floor.   The videos were included in a trove of investigative documents released by the police department on Wednesday  following a controversial grand jury ruling that saw no officers directly charged with Taylor's death.  The footage shows the moment officers find Taylor pulseless in the hallway after she was killed in a hail of bullets on March 13, when her boyfriend Kenneth Walker and cops exchanged fire in a drug raid gone wrong.  As the SWAT team prepares to enter the apartment, an officer is heard briefing the squad on the incident and says Taylor was allegedly the one shooting and was 'down' inside.    At the time, Walker, who had actually fired at police first, was already in police custody meaning Taylor's bull

French couple pay thousands of pounds for a stripy Savannah cat only to find out they had been sold a baby TIGER instead

A French couple who bought a 'Savannah cat' for 6,000 euros (£5,450) were shocked after they were given a tiger cub instead.  The unidentified pair, from the port city of Le Havre, Normandy, paid for the kitten upon delivery after spotting an online ad. However, they failed to notice for a few days that rather than being a Savannah - a cross between a wild Serval and a domestic cat - it was, in fact, a Sumatran tiger, and contacted the police. While a Savannah is listed as an acceptable pet, the tiger is not - and is protected by the CITES treaty (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species), which means it cannot even be transported without paperwork.  A French couple who bought a 'Savannah cat' for 6,000 euros (£5,450) were shocked after they were given a tiger cub instead.
