Biden administration asks for $6.4 billion to fund Afghan refugee resettlement and $24 billion to address natural disaster damage in continuing resolution to fund the government

President Joe Biden's administration sent an urgent funding request to Congress for billions of dollars to pay for the resettlement of Afghan refugees and to address natural disaster damage. The White House asked for $6.4 billion to pay for relocation of tens of thousands of refugees as well as $24 billion in disaster relief - $14 billion in aid to respond to natural disasters that occurred before Hurricane Ida (such as the Western wildfires) and then $10 billion specifically for Hurricane Ida relief as well.  The request for more funding for Afghanistan refugees will likely spark political controversy given that some Democrats and many Republicans have criticized Biden handling of the evacuation.   President Joe Biden's administration asked for billions of dollars to pay for the resettlement of Afghan refugees and to address natural disaster damage - above, Biden huts a woman in New Jersey who was impacted by Hurricane Ida A family evacuated from Kabul, Afghanistan, arrive at

Police are seeking a 23-year-old man who allegedly shot and killed a father of two, and injured five others at a Kansas nightclub that he had been kicked out of early Tuesday. Wichita police identified the suspect in the shooting as Keshawn Dawson, who they said had been involved in a 'disturbance' that became 'physical' at the Enigma Club & Lounge in downtown Wichita, and was subsequently escorted out of the building. A short time later, at around 12.38am, police said Dawson allegedly returned with a semi-automatic handgun, and began shooting through the glass doors and windows at the front of the club, killing 34-year-old Preston Spencer of Wichita, and injuring five women.  After he opened fire, Dawson then left in dark-colored vehicle which was being driven by another individual, Wichita Police Capt. Jason Stephens said at a news conference Tuesday afternoon.  Police are still seeking his whereabouts, he said, and were investigating whether there was any relatio

In a tragic foreshadowing of his death, last week the 54-year-old posted on Instagram a video of Tracy Morgan telling fans 'Don't cry for me. OK', after his near fatal 2014 limousine crash.  In the video, Morgan said: 'I had a misfortunate accident. Don't cry for me. Cry for all the others, man.' This comes just less than seven months since the beloved actor said he started therapy for the first time after being deeply affected by his role in Body Brokers - his final film - which delves into the shady unde
