Trump holds meeting with lawyer Sidney Powell, who he fired for conspiracy theories, as he considers making her special counsel to investigate voter fraud

Donald Trump on Friday held an Oval Office meeting with Sidney Powell, who was unceremoniously dropped from his legal team, to consider appointing her as special counsel for election fraud, according to multiple reports. Powell, who was Michael Flynn's lawyer and is known for her support of wild conspiracy theories, was briefly a member of Trump's team, headed by Rudy Giuliani.  On Friday, as Powell was in the White House, alongside Flynn while Giuliani joined the discussion by phone.  This week, on Newamax, Flynn pushed Trump to impose martial law and deploy the military to 'rerun' the election. At one point in the meeting on Friday, Trump asked about that idea.  Sidney Powell was at the White House on Friday night for a meeting with Donald Trump Donald Trump is reportedly considering appointing Powell as a special counsel Powell was named to Trump's 'elite strike-force' of lawyers on November 14.  Her performance at a November 19 press conference had alarm

Lily James gets VERY passionate on the phone... but don't worry Mrs West, there's a totally innocent explanation this time

Throwing her head back in apparent ecstasy before running her fingers through her long hair, Lily James looks as if she is in the throes of passion… all while receiving a phone call. These images might offer some cause for concern for the wife of Dominic West, with whom the actress shared an ill-advised kiss in Rome this autumn. But Catherine FitzGerald can rest easy, as these pictures merely show Ms James on the set of her new film, entitled What’s Love Got To Do With It? 'This is the worst moment of the pandemic', says SAGE expert as it's revealed new 'Super-Covid' strain is 70% MORE infectious and makes up 60% of new cases in London

A SAGE expert has called the emergence of a new mutant strain of coronavirus that has forced the cancellations of Christmas as the 'worst moment of the pandemic' - as it was revealed the variant is 70 per cent more infectious than others.  British epidemiologist John Edmunds said today that as far as he's concerned 'this is the worst moment of the epidemic because of the extraordinary infectivity of the new strain' of Covid-19. Speaking at an emergency press conference this afternoon, Robert Peston from ITV News questioned Boris Johnson, Professor Chris Whitty and Patrick Vallance about the statement. In response, England's chief medical officer Mr Whitty insisted the new strain - which has caused the Government to place London and the South East in a new Tier 4 of restrictions - was another of 'so many terrible moments in this epidemic.' He added: 'But I have to say in my own view this is not the worst moment in the epidemic.'     Mr Johnson tod

New Covid strain caused a 200% spike in infections in a week which led to the government imposing new draconian restrictions

The draconian new restrictions imposed last night were drawn up after the number of people carrying the coronavirus more than trebled in a week. The rapid rise in areas which were last night plunged into new tier 4 measures is said to be down to a new virus strain, which was first announced on Monday. Last night Sir Patrick Vallance, the Government's chief scientific adviser, warned: 'The virus has taken off – it's moving fast.' The restrictions will apply in London, Kent, Essex, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Surrey, Gosport, Havant, Portsmouth, Rother and Hastings, all of which were previously in tier 3. Epidemiologist John Edmunds, a member of the Government's Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies said: 'This is the worst moment of the epidemic because of the extraordinary infectivity of the new strain.' No Deal Brexit looms as the EU mounts a last-minute 'ambush' over fishing rights and negotiations are 'expected to finish by Christmas one way or another'

Downing Street insisted Brexit trade talks were entering ‘the final hours’ last night and it was ‘increasingly likely’ that the UK would leave the bloc without a deal after the EU tried to mount a last-minute ambush over fishing rights. Government sources said it was ‘widely expected’ that the negotiations would conclude ‘one way or another’ before Christmas, but that no agreement was imminent. No 10 was infuriated by an ultimatum from EU chief negotiator Michel Barnier that would have allowed Brussels to impose ‘lightning tariffs’ on London if the Government restricted access to UK fishing waters. A source said: ‘Talks have become stuck due to unreasonable EU demands on areas such as subsidies and fisheries. ‘We need to get any deal right and based on terms which respect what the British people voted for.
