Texas mom, 25, is charged with child endangerment for 'dangling her terrified son from a 35ft high balcony as punishment as he pleaded "don't drop me"'

A Texas mother has been arrested on a child endangerment charge after police say she dangled her young son from a third-floor balcony as he begged her to not drop him.

Desirae Korus, 25, from San Antonio, was arrested on Wednesday in connection to the incident that took place on Monday at the Costa Miranda apartment complex in the 9300 block of Somerset Road.

According to an arrest affidavit, a special agent with the Drug Enforcement Agency was in the area conducting surveillance in his unmarked vehicle when he heard a woman screaming and a child crying.

The federal agent followed the sounds and spotted a woman, later identified as Korus, dragging a boy aged between 3 and 4 years old out on the balcony of a third-story apartment and verbally reprimand him

According to the document cited by San Antonio Express-News, Korus then picked her son up, held him over the balcony ledge about 35 feet above ground and yelled at him: 'are you going to touch that again?'

The agent heard the boy tearfully plead with his mother: 'don't drop me, no, no I won't do it again.'

The boy was described as being 'nearly unintelligible' because of his sobs.

According to the affidavit, Korus allegedly threatened to drop her son before she pulled him back into the balcony and let him go inside the apartment.
