BJP expels Gururaj Hunashimarad for six years

BJP district unit has decided to act tough against its rebel candidates who are working against the official candidates of the party in Dharwad district. In order to send a strong message to other rebel candidates, BJP high command has expelled Gururaj Hunashimarad from the party for six years, for contesting against the official candidate. Hunashimarad is also contesting the assembly election as a rebel candidate from Hubli-Dharwad West constituency after his efforts to get the BJP ticket failed. Former president of youth wing of state Janata dal(S), Hunashimarad had left JD(S) and joined BJP a few years ago. He had been campaigning that he was contesting against the BJP's official nominee Arvind Bellad to oppose the dynasty culture in the party and that he would return to BJP and support Jagadish Shettar if elected. Considering this as an anti-party activity the party high command has expelled Hunashimarad said president of Dharwad city BJP Suresh Bedre.
