The Celtics are not the only ones frustrated with the setback

It started with the horrific leg injury in his first game with the business.

While Monday's setback was not exactly the exact same ankle as that from 2017, it is still unfortunate for a Celtics team which seems poised for a deep playoff run.

The company Tuesday showed Hayward will miss approximately four months. Upon hearing the news, many voiced their disappointment social media.

Here's what some had to say: Gordon Hayward's time with the Boston Celtics could practically be measured in injuries.

Here's what a few had to say:

Four months would be the start of the Eastern Conference Finals.

That means Boston is without Hayward for the rest of this show with Philadelphia and also a possible second round series with Toronto too.

@KeithSmithNBA

Hayward played very well to begin the season, then fractured his hand vs Spurs on November 9. Ended up missing just a month and returned on December 9. Came back and was equally as consistently good as he was prior to being the injury.

Only stinks for all Hayward has already been through.

Just demanding, tough luck for Hayward and the Cs. When fully healthy from the bubble, their offense was awesome. Going to be hard for them to substitute what he can. The main guys -- Jayson Tatum, Kemba Walker, Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart -- will probably wind up with more on their own plate.

@TermineRadio

No group has a 4th greatest player as great as Hayward. He had been using a huge comeback year. Major blow.

I'm legitimately bad for Gordon Hayward.

@ByAlFrancisco

Gordon Hayward was enjoying his very best basketball as a Celtic. Finally looking like his old self in the Jazz days, pre owned ankle break, and continues to be so enormous on crime for a facilitator. I'm sick for him

@Meghan_Ottolini

Head coach Brad Stevens and other Celtics expressed similar reactions.

Hayward was averaging his minutes (33.5), points (17.5) and rebounds (6.7) considering becoming a Celtic.

The Celtics currently have a 1-0 series lead on the 76ers. The two squads return to action Wednesday for Game 2 of those seven-game series.
