Tech, Company jobs to support a variety of Amazon companies out of offices in Galleria Dallas
Amazon is likely to include more than 600 new tech and company work in Dallas since they enlarge their Tech Hub in North Texas.
The growth is part of a nationwide expansion of hubs in Detroit, Denver, New York, Phoenix and San Diego that will create over 3,500 jobs throughout the country. The DFW-based teams will encourage a variety of Amazon companies including AWS, Retail and Amazon Devices in a new 100,000-square-foot space at Galleria Dallas. The teams will also use "machine learning how to scale cloud infrastructure and principal architects who will execute transformational solutions, hastening the benefits of 5G."
"We are pleased to create 600 new jobs on top of the thousands of roles we've developed over the last several years in the Dallas/Fort Worth region across our technician offices and logistics infrastructure. We're drawn to this region by its highly-skilled work force and culture of innovation," said Alberto Bayarena, Website Lead of Amazon's Dallas Tech Hub. "We anticipate being a strong community partner because we continue to grow and invest here in Dallas/Fort Worth, helping to diversify the local economy and create more opportunity for the residents."
Along with the 600 jobs announced, Amazon says that there are currently 130 open tech and corporate roles from the Dallas-Fort Worth region.
"The Lone Star State is the top state for technology exports thanks to elite businesses such as Amazon that continue to expand and create more jobs for Texans throughout our great country," said Gov. Greg Abbott (R). "With more than 16 billion already invested, this newest project will produce an added 600 jobs for Texans in the DFW area. As a result, I will continue to promote policies that remove barriers and incentivize additional investment in the world's top companies."
Amazon mentioned over the last decade they have created over 43,000 jobs and invested over $16 billion in communities across Texas, which contributed an additional $18.8 billion into the Texas economy.
