Rudy Giuliani is nearly 'broke' as he confronts a potentially long legal following an FBI raid on his home and office – and his aides are astonished that his longtime client former President Trump isn't contributing despite Trump's own massive fundraising haul.
The grousing comes as Trump puts the election overturn effort that Giuliani helped fuel with his ultimately fruitless legal battles continues to help Trump bank donations from around the country.
He raised $82 million in the first half of 2021 – and is now sitting on a $102 million war chest as he seeks to topple Republicans he deems 'RINOs' and position himself for a potential presidential run in 2024.

With Giuliani facing legal troubles that the former New York mayor says could land him in jail, his allies are eyeing Trump's haul as a potential lifeline.
He is also named in a massive lawsuit by Dominion Voting Systems over his claims as part of his efforts to claim fraud in states that Joe Biden won over President Trump.
He is 'close to broke,' the New York Times reported, and the allies are 'aghast' that Trump isn't at least helping out with Giuliani's mounting legal expenses.
Giuliani made no doubt that he is at least contemplating bad outcomes on the legal front, despite denying all the charges against him.
'I mean, I'm more than willing to go to jail if they want to put me in jail. And if they do, they're going to suffer the consequences in heaven, I'm not,' Giuliani said. 'I didn't do anything wrong,' he added.
According to WinRed, the GOP's main contribution site, Trump has raised far more money than any other Republican. He has also surpassed each of the party's main three fundraising arms in donations.

Trump's statement on his latest funding haul referenced many of the claims of a 'stolen' election that Giuliani forwarded on the legal front, although a series of courts rejected 'Kraken' lawsuits with similar claims, and Congress counted the electoral votes certified by states that made Joe Biden president.
'Bringing the truth about the Rigged and Stolen 2020 election to light is critical to restoring faith in our election process and our country itself,' Trump said his statement on the massive fundraising. 'On behalf of the millions of men and women who share my outrage and want me to continue to fight for the truth, I am grateful for your support.'
He has repeatedly hit up his extensive mailing list with fundraising appeals linked to the election overturn effort, and blasting Democrats who want to probe it as part of the 'witch hunt.'
The issue confronting Trump is more than a matter of generosity, according to aides. His aides say there isn't an a way to pay Giuliani's bills that isn't 'problematic' for Trump, according to the Times. Such an arrangement could be brought up in any potential prosecution that could be harmful to either man, and were Giuliani convicted it would further tie him to the actions of his longtime personal lawyer.
Giuliani can argue that his actions were essentially on behalf of Trump.
FBI agents raided Giuliani's home and office in April, seizing numerous electronic devices as part of their investigation into his dealings in Ukraine. One of the FBI warrants reportedly stated agents were seeking information on Giuliani's communications with former Ukrainian prosecutors – which were part of his effort to dig up dirt on the Bidens. That effort was part of Giuliani's push to help Trump in his reelection. He has said he wasn't paid for his representation of Trump.
Giuliani's own legal defense fund has struggled to bring in cash.
