He encounters some debris along the side of the building before moving towards its garage area, where the floor has collapsed and cars are falling into the chasms that have opened up.

'Is anybody there?' he shouts. 'Is anybody there? Police.'

A woman calls out from below: 'Help, help Please help.'

'No,' she replies.

'I anyone down there injured?' the officer asks as he shines his flashlight on her.

'Yes, an old lady,' she says.

'What's wrong with her?' the officer asks, before telling the survivors. 'Give me a second. I'm going to go around.'

'It looks like an explosion,' the guard replied.

Footage from another officer at around 1.30am shows him looking over the edge of the breezeway as the cries for help continue from below. He calls his superior on his cell phone.

'Captain,' he says with disbelief in his voice. 'The Champlain towers. The building. It collapsed. The Champlain towers building collapsed, the back part of the building collapsed.'

'We don't know,' he continues on the phone. 'Somebody heard a loud noise and it just came down. Fire rescue's on their way. This is huge, I mean humongous.'

'I know, I was in the building,' he replies.

'I need you to go that way, we don't know when the other half is gonna fall, where it's gonna fall,' the officer says.

Finally, a clip from around 1.44am shows a handful of officers standing across the street outside, staring in disbelief at the pile of rubble in front of them.

'This is one of the craziest calls I’ve ever been on,' one of the officers comments.

'This is insane,' another officer says. 'I know man, I don’t even want to talk about it.'
