Terrifying moment racing trucks crash sending one flying over the track barrier during the first lap of race
Dramatic footage shows the moment two trucks collide during the first lap of a race, sending one vehicle flying straight through the crash barriers.
The terrifying incident took place at Thruxton Race Circuit in Hampshire during the BTRA British Trucks Race on October 31.
Miraculously both drivers were not seriously hurt and have returned home with bruising after being taken to hospital for checks, the British Automobile Racing Club confirmed.
The video was taken by spectator Luke Holder from Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, who watching from a safe distance as both drivers escaped unharmed.
As the clip begins, the trucks are seen racing around a difficult bend.
In the background, a driver seems to have lost control of his vehicle and goes barreling over the grass next to the track.
It continues to speed towards the other trucks before eventually ploughing into a vehicle on the inside of the bend.
The trucks hurtle off the track, with one smashing into the fencing sending debris flying.
The other truck also hits the barrier and is sent soaring through the air, demolishing the fence in the process.

Eventually the trucks come to a stop, with attendants at Thruxton race circuit rushing to help the drivers from the vehicles
It eventually lands with a thud and rolls to a stop as smoke billows out.
Another video taken from inside the vehicle which was hit shows the moment of impact.
A loud bang is heard and the truck is sent skidding to the side while the driver of the other vehicle is sent flying.
IT engineer Mr Holder shared the dramatic video on Facebook and said: 'Extremely big crash at Thruxton race circuit with the British Racing Trucks, driver got out with help from fire jaws and taken off in the ambulance, wishing him well.'

It is not known what caused the driver to lose control of his vehicle before crashing into the truck in front
Thankfully for both drivers the truck cabins offered protection during the crash, with both sustaining bruising but no further injuries, according to the British Automobile Racing Club
Thruxton Race Circuit shared their footage of the impact shortly after as well, saying: 'It was an eventful first lap for the BTRA British Trucks today! Both drivers are okay.'
The clips have stunned social media users.
Lee Harding wrote: 'Wow, glad everyone involved is okay. Thruxton is a fast place, imagine if the trucks were not top speed limited.'
Karen Goodchild added: 'We were there yesterday and so glad to hear the drivers are okay.'
And Jo Denton said: ' Was there for this, awful incident.'
