Yohanna Milad Israel Rizk, 28, of New York City, did not know how to swim and was seen by friends struggling to hold onto the raft after it flipped in Bryant Pond Sunday.
His body was found in 40 feet of water around 240 feet offshore by a dive team Monday, the Maine Warden Service said.
Friends attempted to rescue Rizk but were not successful, the service said. The warden service and local responders attempted to find Rizk on Sunday but did not succeed and resumed on Monday.

The former Buzzfeed engineer and University of Minnesota graduate went by the name Yohan Rizk professionally, according to online profiles. He was in Maine with 11 friends.
It is not clear why he went out on the lake alone.
Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife spokesman Mark Latti told The New York Post: 'The friends who were watching him saw him tip over.'
