9-year-old killed by intruder: Girl stabbed to death, Brother saw man ran-away

9-year-old girl killed by intruder was stabbed to death by an intruder while she was in her own home. According to KSEE 24, the girl's 12-year-old brother arrived home just in time to see the man run away from the house. He then went to look through the house for his sister and he found that she'd been stabbed. This happened about noon on Saturday, April 27, 2013.

The boy called his parents, who weren't home at the time, police were alerted of this crime by a 911 call. The little girl was fatally stabbed by the intruder, as she was pronounced dead at the hospital. Police wouldn't release any information about this murder, but the investigation is underway.

A manhunt is in full force in the Northern California town of Valley Springs for this intruder who police warn is armed and dangerous. Police have also warned people of this town to lock their doors.

Police were already searching house to house in attics and in storage areas on Saturday night. Along with the deceased girl's brother seeing the intruder, a neighbor also spotted the man running from the house.

He is described as a Hispanic male, about six feet tall. He had longer gray hair and a muscular build. He was wearing blue pants and a black long-sleeved shirt when seen running from the home.

Valley Springs sits about 60 miles southeast of Sacramento. It is a small town that is home to only about 3,500 people.
