9-year-old killed by intruder: Armed and dangerous Manhunt Under way
9-year-old killed by intruder who is Armed and dangerous in Northern California have police searching for a man who is considered to be "armed and dangerous." On April 28, the New York Daily News reported that the Calaveras County Sheriff's office has cautioned people in the area about the situation and told residents to keeps their doors locked.
According to the report, the girl's 12-year-old brother saw the intruder run away from his house -- but it was too late. When the young boy went into the house to check on his younger sister, he found that she had been stabbed. He told police that he did not recognize the suspect.
The 9-year-old killed by the intruder was taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead. She was left home alone according to the report. Her brother called their parents who then called 911 but it was too late. The little girl was killed by an unknown man in what some media outlets are calling a random act of violence.
"We were doing a house-to-house search and in some cases were searching attics and storages. It’s a difficult area to search. It’s rural, it’s remote (sic)," said Calaveras County Sheriff’s Capt. Jim Macedo. At this point, a motive is also unknown.
