Vile paedophile who has spent nearly all his life in jail for raping children and was once the prime suspect in Daniel Morcombe's murder will walk FREE from prison - despite report warning he is 'high risk'
A child rapist who was once the prime suspect in the murder of Daniel Morcombe will walk free from prison after a controversial supreme court ruling.
Douglas Brian Jackway, 44, will be released from the Brisbane Correctional Centre after he successfully won a bid to overturn his sentence.
The convicted paedophile has spent all but three months of his adult life behind bars, after first attacking a 10-year-old boy and a nine-year-old girl in the 1990s.
His release comes despite the sex offender being described as a 'biological psychopath' and warnings he could pose a 'high risk of re-offending' without supervision.

News of Jackway's release was met with horror by Jack's father, Bruce Morcombe.
'He is definitely the worst of the worst,' Mr Morcombe told the Courier Mail.
'He is not a groomer of young people – he's not a paedophile that grooms kids – he is one of the most violent pedophiles in Australia.
'He is a very violent person and truly was capable of anything. I hope he has rehabilitated today.
'We all hold our breath and hope no further carnage happens.'
The 44-year-old will be released on the condition he is managed under a supervision order.
This will require him wearing a GPS tracker and living in the Wacol precinct where other sex offenders are housed.
He will also be subject to a strict curfew, reports ABC News.

During his time in prison Jackway has committed more than 113 violations, including acts of violence against other prisoners.
One such incident saw him assault another prisoner as recently as just May this year.
His release was approved on Tuesday after six failed applications to appeal an indefinite prison term dating back to February 2012 under the sexual offenders legislation
Brisbane Supreme Court Justice Susan Brown said Jackway had taken significant time, with the help of rehabilitation programs and treatment to 'reach a point of maturation and develop methods to exercise self-control over his emotions and behaviour'.
'His risks of reoffending ... are considered by psychiatrists to be moderate and below moderate under the conditions of a supervision order,' Justice Brown said in a judgment summary of the court's reasons.
Jackway has been in and out of Wolston Correctional Centre since he was first arrested in 18
'In all of the circumstances, the court is satisfied that the adequate protection of the community can be ensured by his release on a supervision order and there are a number of protective factors in place to detect any escalation of risk towards reoffending by Mr Jackway,' she added.
He will be subject to the supervision order for 15 years 'given the complexity of his conditions and the fact that he has become institutionalised after such a long period of imprisonment'.
During earlier reviews experts found he had not yet reached a stage where he could manage the risk of exposure to drugs and alcohol, and his violent and impulsive behaviours.
Last year's review heard he was identified as a main offender in a prisoner assault over a drug debt and was verbally abusive towards Queensland Health staff and a prison officer.
One prisoner office claims he was the worst inmate he had ever seen during his career.
'The consequences of what he could do outweighs anything,' he told the Courier Mail.
'I've known him since the 1990s. Without doubt he is the worst sex offender that I've seen. He is the worst of the worst, the top 10 in Australia, easy.
Due to the nature of his offences, he was also once the prime suspect in disappearance of murdered schoolboy Daniel Morcombe who went missing from the Sunshine Coast in 2003
'He's just a predator. You have you pedophiles. But he is a violent pedophile. It makes him so dangerous.'

The 13-year-old was abducted from the Sunshine Coast in December 2003, the same year Jackway was released from prison.
He was later ruled out as police shifted their focus to the man eventually jailed over for the crime, Brett Peter Cowan.
Cowan was found guilty of his murder in March 2014 and sentenced to life in prison.
