Little Rock cops confirm grandmother, 61, mother, 31, and her three daughters, aged between 7 and 12, all died in Christmas Day murder-suicide after 'being found shot dead' at home

A grandmother, a mother and her three daughters who were all found dead inside their Arkansas home on Christmas Day died in a murder-suicide, police revealed Monday.

Pope County Sheriff Shane Jones said in a statement that evidence collected at the scene in Atkins, some 65 miles northwest of Little Rock, confirmed the nature of their deaths. 

The two deceased women were identified as Jaquita Chase, 31, and Patricia Patrick, 61.

The three girls, meanwhile, were named as 7-year-old Danielle Collins, 10-year-old Levenah Countryman, and Abigail Heflin, who was 12. 

At least some of the victims were shot, police said, though no further details have been disclosed. 

It's currently unclear which of the dead carried out the killings before committing suicide. A motive is also unconfirmed at this time.

'While all loss of life is heartbreaking, this situation has been particularly tragic,' Jones said in a statement. 'Anytime children are senselessly taken from those who love them, the pain is beyond compare. When you add to that the loss of the adults involved, the pain is unfathomable.'

Jones continued: 'There are so many family members and friends who are hurting, dismayed and in shock over the events of this past Christmas Day.

'We need to keep them in our prayers, as they will need many in the days ahead, and continue to reach out to them to offer any assistance possible.'

Relative Melissa Brown confirmed that all five of the dead were related, however Levenah is not Jaquinta's biological daughter.

She said he family received 'the call no family wants to receive' on Christmas night. 

Investigators were first alerted to the scene after receiving a phone call at around 5:15pm on Friday indicating suspicious activity inside a home on the 5100 block of Pine Ridge Road near Atkins.

Inside, they found 'five individuals were located deceased in the home'.

Deputies from the Pope County Sheriff's Office received a call at 5:15pm on December 25 to reports of suspicious activity inside the home

In a statement police at the time, police said: 'We believe this to be an isolated incident, and do not feel that there is any continued danger to the local public.' 

An investigation is ongoing. The probe is being conducted by the Pope County Sheriff's Office as well as the Arkansas State Police. 

Brown has set up a GoFundMe to help with funeral costs for the Heflin/Patrick family.

'On Christmas day, we received unimaginable news,' a post on the fundraiser authored by Brown read. '5 of our precious relatives were found deceased in their home. 

'A grandmother, mother, and 3 children, all taken from us. At the moment there are no details to share. It's being investigated as a murder. We haven't made arrangements yet. We can't fathom the pain or the cost of laying 5 of us to rest at once. We are devastated!'  

A separate fundraiser has also been set up for the parent's Levenah Countryman, Dustan and Krystal.

In a tribute to the 10-year-old on Facebook, Angela Countryman, who identified herself as the girl's grandmother, wrote: 

'My granddaughter was a beautiful precious person. She loved everyone an everything.I want be the same without her.

'My darkness is now totaly darkened I'll treasure every moment we had together.I put her on the bus every morning. She picked out her own clothes she loved clothes for a 10 year old.

'She was so innocent .She didnt deserve this nune of them did . We are so confused and lost dont understand how this God could allow such a thing to happen. Levenah Countryman you were my reason to breathe. May God rest your soul.'
