Horrifying moment a woman brazenly shatters the windows of a stranger's car with a CHAIN outside of a McDonald's store

A man's car has been destroyed by a 'crazy' chain-wielding woman during a brazen daylight attack in a McDonald's car park.

Gary Haslett shared pictures of his beaten up red Volkswagen parked at the Johnston fast food franchise, west of Darwin, on Saturday.

'This crazy woman smashed my car with a chain while I was eating lunch at McDonald's,' he wrote.

Mr Haslett also shared videos of a woman standing outside the restaurant and playing with a silver chain.

She was dressed in a black singlet and three-quarter pants.

Pictures showed the roof of Mr Haslett's car had caved in from the impact, while the back window was shattered.

A side mirror and at least two of the car's lights were also destroyed during the lunchtime attack.

A mark resembling a chain was imprinted on the windscreen.

Police were at the scene inspecting the damage to the car.
