Father, 40, 'stabbed his gifted 16-year-old son to death then killed himself in murder-suicide' at family home
Tributes have been paid to a gifted 16-year-old boy after it is believed he was stabbed to death by his father who then killed himself at their family home.
Tony Thomas, 16, was called a 'trailblazer' and 'big brother' by his kayaking club with friends describing him as 'gentle, motivated and smiling'.
Police Scotland launched a murder investigation after Tony Thomas and his dad Seweryn, 40, were found dead at their home in Bishopbriggs, Glasgow, last Wednesday.

Investigators have confirmed they are not looking for anyone else in connection with their deaths.
A police source told the Daily Record: 'It would appear that Tony's father killed him then took his own life. It is really heart-breaking and tragic and nobody knows what it was all about.
'There was no indication prior to this of any problem.
'The mum, Eve, had just celebrated her birthday the day before and for her to lose her son days before Christmas is especially heart-breaking.'
Tony was a talented athlete and lead member of the Glasgow Kayak Club who was reportedly set to study law next year.
A statement from Glasgow Kayak Club Sprint and Marathon Team said: 'Thank you for being a part of the GKC family. You were the first member, the big brother, the trailblazer.

The deaths took place the day after the birthday of Tony's mother Eve Thomas
'While we're no longer fortunate enough to paddle next to you, the memories you have given us will stay with us forever.
'What is sadness today will be pride tomorrow, as we smile and remember our friend Tony.'
A friend added: 'What a positive impact Tony had upon so many lives as he developed from a boy to a young man.
'Gentle in nature, motivated, smiling and always a great ambassador for Scottish Sprint paddling. He will not be forgotten.'
His father Seweryn, originally from Poland, is thought to have run his own joinery business and been in Glasgow with his family for more than a decade.
A police spokesman said: 'A 16-year-old male youth and 40-year-old man were found dead within a house in Grainger Road, Bishopbriggs.
'Post mortems have taken place and police have launched a murder investigation.'
