Will & Grace actor born in New York goes viral for NAILING an Australian accent – so what do you think of his impression?

A New York-born Will & Grace actor has sent the internet into a frenzy after nailing an Australian accent. 

Brian Jordan Alvarez - who played Estefan Gloria in the hit TV series - took to Twitter on Monday with a comedic video congratulating Americans for voting Joe Biden into the White House.  

But one feature of the short clip left viewers taken aback. 

The Columbian-American adopted an award-worthy Australian impression - complete with a singlet, casual profanity, and the notable upward inflection.

'Hey guys, just wanted to reach out to America and say we’re so proud of you that you got rid of your stupid f****** dictator,' he said in the video. 

'You guys are gonna have, like, a regular president again.

'It doesn’t have to be perfect but it’s so much better than the s*** that you’ve put the whole world through for the last four years.

'So I just wanna say congratulations and you’re not as stupid as we thought, and we love you... now.'

The pin-point articulation rapidly went viral, racking up more than 445,000 views since it was posted.  

People from around the globe applauded Alvarez's 'flawless' take on pronunciation down under, with many saying they had to double check he was a foreigner. 

'I thought he WAS Australian. To learn he isn't is mind blowing. This is the only fake Aussie accent I have ever heard that actually works,' one person wrote.

'HOLY F***K!! HE'S NOT AUSTRALIAN??? He sure as hell fooled me and I'm FROM Australia!!!! That accent is perfect! Fair dinkum!' Another added.

'I literally had no clue this guy wasn't Australian. People kept sending this to me yesterday and I was like 'so what, some Aussie bloke has made a video'',' a third said.

Aussies described the inflection as somewhere between 'Sydney' and 'Gold Coast teenager' .

Many said it was the best Australian accent they had ever heard, trumping those adopted by Hollywood actors Kate Winslet and Meryl Streep.

Alvarez is also known for his role playing Wesley Masters in Jane the Virgin.
