Fugitive suspected of being linked to a face-tattooed man with terminal cancer who was found dead in a ditch may have shaved off his signature facial hair
A man suspected of having links to an alleged murder may be disguising himself by shaving off his signature long red beard.
Michael Hartley, 43, who was dying from terminal liver cancer, was found dead at the bottom of an embankment near Gympie in Queensland on Monday morning.
Police are now on the hunt for Daniel Baumgart, 38, to question him about the alleged murder of Mr Hartley, and say he may be trying to change his appearance.
'He may have changed his features by shaving his beard and head and be staying with others in the Maryborough area,' a police spokesman said.

Baumgart is described as caucasian, around 180cm tall, with a slim build and red hair.
Police have already charged James Baumgart, 36, with murder, assault occasioning bodily harm and willful damage.
Authorities say Baumgart and three other men were involved in a fight at a home in Maryborough - an hour's drive from Gympie - at about 5pm Sunday.
Police allege two of the men then fled in a white ute, while Baumgart was taken to Hervey Bay Hospital with a stab wound to his abdomen.
The abandoned getaway car was then found by police at about 10pm that night after crashing into a property's fence on Burns Road in Gympie.
The following morning police questioned a 45-year-old who was connected to the ute.
Just hours later, Mr Hartley's body was found in an embankment on the same property.
