Steve Martin baby, Named as " Conquistador". "It's a statement" name, he says.
Steve Martin, who has been totally tight-lipped about his new baby girl, opened up a little —- with jokes — about being a new dad on Tuesday's Late Show with David Letterman.
The comedian, 67, said everything is "going great" with the baby that he and wife Anne Stringfield welcomed two months ago. Martin then pulled out a baby monitor and placed it on the Dave's desk.
"The baby's back at the hotel," he explained, proudly adding, "and I'm a responsible dad."
After various noises were heard coming from the monitor, including a dog barking, coughing and a siren, Martin cracked, "I think I left the window open!"
Dave asked about the baby's name, and Steve replied, "We've thought about the name quite a bit," he said.
"Conquistador," he said, pronouncing it "con-queest-a dor." "What do you think? I didn't want to go with one of those Hollywood weird names. Conquistador says... It's a statement."
As Wetpaint.com points out, maybe he'll call her Connie.
