Carey Mulligan spotted in rare appearance with husband Marcus

Last week, Carey Mulligan put on a winning solo appearance at the Tiffany & Co Blue Book Ball in New York.
But after fulfilling her red carpet duties, the actress couldn't wait to be back at her husband Marcus Mumford's side as they marked their first wedding anniversary.
After presumably marking the date on Sunday in a quiet, romantic way, the couple were spotted out and about in New York on Monday.

Both looked relaxed, dressed down in jeans as they made their way into a building in the East Village.
It was exactly a year ago that the young couple wed in Somerset after a year-long courtship.
No doubt, the pair were enjoying spending time together before Carey goes on her promotional tour for The Great Gatsby movie.

All summer, Marcus and his band Mumford And Sons will be travelling back and forward between the UK and North America on their tour.
In a recent interview, Carey admitted her passion for acting isn't quite as all consuming as it once was since getting married.
The pair started dating in 2011, having previously written to each other as pen-pals when they were children.

She told US Vogue magazine: '(Acting is not) the focus of my life... It’s what I love doing but it’s not everything.'

After filming her last movie Inside Llewyn Davis, Carey took a year off to focus on her personal life.

She admitted it was 'unsettling' to realise what she wanted in life.

She explained: 'Not like some version of it, not a slightly lesser version of it, but exactly.

'You’re like: This is weird. It is weird.'

Next month, The Great Gatsby will open the Cannes Film Festival.
