The HGTV stars celebrated the debut of their new network on Thursday, which was originally set to launch last year but pushed back due to the pandemic.

'This morning I sat there, and I was in the bathroom and I was crying, "Why am I crying?" and it felt like I just gave birth,' Joanna said during an appearance on Today with her husband Chip, 46.

'I always cry when I give birth. "This is a baby two, two and a half years in the making. Today is her debut." So, we're so excited.'

The network will officially launch on television in January 2022, but already features original programming through the new Magnolia app and discovery+ .

'I think what we loved about the network was getting to highlight other people's stories,' Joanna said. 'Inspiring people. So we're excited about highlighting them.'

Magnolia Network replaces the DIY Network and will offer new seasons of some favorite shows in addition to past episodes of HGTV's Fixer Upper.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter last month, Joanna slammed racism accusations waged against the couple after they donated $1,000 to his sister's hardline anti-critical race theory school board election campaign.

Viewers have also long accused the couple of homophobia for never featuring a same-sex couple on their programs.
