A person who almost jumped to their death from a bridge has penned a powerful message of hope on the railing they looked over.
The potentially lifesaving note on a bridge on Bueller St in Wellington, New Zealand, urged people not to take their own lives because life gets better.
'I nearly killed myself here two years ago,' the note read.
'Now I have a beautiful family, a fulfilling career, and laugh every day. Look after yourself. Have a safe Christmas.'

An image of the hopeful message was shared online to Facebook and Reddit as social media users commended the writer for their encouraging words.
'Hope someone who needs it sees this,' someone wrote.
'So often suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. I'm really happy the writer of this little piece found happiness, and I hope that whomever needs to read this finds it,' a Reddit user wrote.
