Meet Trump's latest election fraud advisor: Ousted Overstock CEO had sex with Russian honeytrap, claimed he had mission from Obama to 'bribe' Hillary and hired hackers to 'prove' election was rigged for Biden

The latest addition to Donald Trump's cabal of election fraud 'advisors' is a retail tycoon turned conspiracy theorist who claims he worked undercover for the FBI and President Obama to catch Hillary Clinton taking foreign bribes.

Former Overstock CEO Patrick Byrne says he was visited in 2015 by two 'Men In Black' who told him: 'The Bureau is setting Hillary Clinton up in a sting. We need you to facilitate a bribe for her.'

Byrne, 58, led e-commerce giant Overstock for two decades before stepping down last year when it was revealed he was romantically involved with Maria Butina, a Russian spy jailed for seeking to influence US policy.

He argued, however, that he slept with the flame-haired secret agent on the orders of FBI handlers so they could monitor alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 Presidential Election.

In recent months Byrne, a flamboyant libertarian who once parachuted into the opening of his former company's headquarters, has turned his attention to the 2020 election, claiming on his DeepCapture blog to have funded 'hackers and cybersleuths' to prove the vote was rigged in favor of Joe Biden.

Byrne's posts have frequently put him at odds with Democrats but he claims in an October post that he was enlisted by Obama and former FBI director James Comey to target Clinton as she stood for President in 2016.

'We need you to shift to working on something more important,' FBI agents allegedly told him, referring to his previous 'work' with Butina.

'There are two groups in the FBI investigating the Clintons. There is a group looking into Hillary's emails, but we think that is a whitewash. Yet there is a group of agents in New York City looking into her finances, and they want to put her ass in stir,' he writes.

Byrne says the agents told him Comey had been blocking aggressive inquiries into Clinton but were ready to act on new intelligence.

'Recently information had come in, however, that Hillary had accepted a bribe in the low tens of millions of dollars. They told me who it was from (a foreign government) and how it was done. The FBI agents in New York had leveraged that information to force Comey to sign off on setting Hillary up in a bribery sting, these agents explained.

'Now those New York agents were asking for my help. It was believed that a different foreign government … wanted to pay Hillary a bribe (in the teens-millions) in return for having Hillary privately pledge what one aspect of President Hillary's policy towards their nation would be.

'My assignment was to create the following end-state: within two months, Hillary Clinton and that government's bagman are to be somewhere together alone in a room for 10 minutes. You take it from there, Byrne.'

The blog goes on to claim that Byrne insisted on having a letter from Comey that would legally exempt him from committing 'acts otherwise illegal' if he was ever caught.

'My involvement is I was in the room when it happened. The raised voices included my own,' Byrne tweeted about Friday's meeting

'One agent said: We've been instructed to inform you that you cannot be given a letter, but if you'll come to DC the Director says you can be shown a letter,' Byrne adds in a rambling, 10,000-word article more akin to a spy novel.

'I said, Oh, this request is coming from Director Comey?

'Nearly simultaneously, both Special Agents began nodding-coughing into their fists as they glanced and pointed up to the ceiling whilst still coughing.

'I asked, 'The Director and…. the President?'

'This time they held my eyes as they simultaneously coughed into their hands and nodded.

'OK, well, you can tell Director Comey and President Obama that a (I coughed into my hand in imitation of the agents) from them is good enough for me. Consider Hillary bribed.'

Byrne says the plan was to get the former First Lady and Secretary of State to accept money from an undercover FBI 'bagman'.

He doesn't go into precise detail, saying only that he achieved steps A,B, C but was kept in the dark about step D: 'D being, Hillary Clinton walks into a room alone and spends ten minutes with that bagman.'

Days later, he was summoned to another meeting with the 'Men in Black', who greeted him with 'stern, menacing looks'.

'The agents were sober as judges. They did not tell me whether Hillary had made it to the meeting or not,' Byrne writes.

'Instead they said, 'Patrick, this mission has been scrubbed. We need you to forget every moment of it. We mean it. You must erase every second of this from your memory'.

'Here is the explanation they gave me in a nervous, even panicked, tone: Hillary Clinton is going to be our next President and nothing can stop that now.

'The day she becomes President, the first thing she is going to do is send her people over to the FBI and find out who was part of investigating her, and we are all going to be destroyed.

'That includes you, Patrick. This mission has been scrubbed from the highest level.'

Byrne says that when he tried to broach the investigation again he was told a deal had been brokered whereby Clinton would become President but would be 'managed' by Obama.

The outgoing President would hold a 'Bunsen burner to her,' thanks in part to the evidence Byrne had gathered.

'If Hillary is a good girl, defends Obamacare etc., that hand will keep the Bunsen burner on 'Low,' the agents allegedly told him.

'If she is a bad girl, starts thinking for herself, that hand mimes twisting a will turn the Bunsen burner to 'High'. That way, for the eight years she is President, Hillary is going to be managed by Barack Obama.

'Then Hillary is going to step down, and Michelle is going to run… And Patrick, that's the plan.'

Byrne, the son of millionaire insurance magnate John J. Byrne, started Overstock in 1999 as an online flea market where third-party wholesalers could ship furniture and household goods direct to the customer, a business model that has become the standard for online shopping.

The company grew rapidly, generating annual revenue in excess of $90 million, however by the mid-2000s it began to struggle in the face of competition from the likes of Amazon and eBay.

Byrne, a cancer survivor and doomsday prepper with a Ph.D. in philosophy from Stanford, became widely known in 2007 for waging a legal battle against nearly a dozen Wall Street banks, including Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs, accusing them of damaging Overstock through 'massive, illegal stock market manipulation'.

He was himself taken to court in 2011 and successfully sued for $1.2m by the Canadian businessman, Altaf Nazerali, for a blog post alleging without evidence that Nazerali was involved with Colombian drug cartels, the Russian Mafia and various Jihadist terrorist groups.

Byrne announced his resignation from Overstock in August last year after disclosing he had been romantically entwined for three years with Butina, a glamorous Russian gun rights activist who was sentenced to 18 months in prison in 2018 for being an unregistered foreign agent.

The Siberian-born beauty served five months and was deported back to Russia in October 2019.

Byrne has claimed he is not a Trump voter but continues to promote conspiracy theories that Democrats rigged November's election, bringing him ever closer to the outgoing President's orbit.

The New York Times reported that a 'heated' meeting was convened last Friday night at the White House where Trump strategists debated the President's next moves.

Among them was Powell, a lawyer for the Trump campaign, who has propagated theories about a Venezuelan plot to rig US voting machines and laid into her fellow advisors for being 'quitters', according to the Times.

Byrne was not named in the report but he posted several photos to Twitter afterwards to prove that he was there.

'My involvement is I was in the room when it happened. The raised voices included my own,' he Tweeted.

'President Trump is being terribly served by his advisers. They want him to lose and are lying to him. He is surrounded by mendacious mediocrities.'
