A man was shot dead and another was injured yesterday after an argument broke out over a card game.
Jamel R. Hendrix, of Lumberton, North Carolina, died shortly after the gunman, whose identity is not yet confimed, opened fire.
The Robeson County Sheriff's Office revealed the incident happened just before 3am on Saturday morning in Rowland, a town less than hour away from Fayetteville.
Deputies dispatched to 1552 Purvis Road over a report that two individuals had been shot following a card game.
'The shootings are the result of an argument at a card game,' authorities said.

When deputies arrived, they discovered 54-year-old Rodney Lewis suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The extent of his injuries was not disclosed
Hendrix had also suffered a gunshot wound and had been transported to Southeastern Health for treatment prior to the deputies' arrival. Hendrix, 24, succumbed to his injury and died at the medical center.
Authorities have not disclosed the nature of the argument, the relationship between the two men, or who else was at the scene during the shooting.
