Live by the sword, die by the sword: Inside the last moments of notorious outlaw bikie who was shot dead 'execution-style' in a hail of bullets on the Gold Coast while his partner and two small children were just metres away
Notorious bikie Shane Bowden has been killed in an execution-style shooting on the Gold Coast
Notorious Mongols bikie Shane Bowden has been killed by members of his own gang in an execution-style shooting on the Gold Coast.
The 48-year-old was gunned down in a hail of bullets in his car moments after pulling into the driveway of his home on Cox Road in Pimpama just after midnight on Monday morning.
His wife and two small children were just metres away inside the home at the time of the brazen murder.
Two burnt-out vehicles were found nearby - one at Beenleigh and one at Ormeau - and a manhunt has been launched for two men believed to be behind the shooting.
Detective Superintendent Brendan Smith said it seemed as though Bowden was ambushed.
'At this point we believe the victim came home from the gym and has driven into his driveway, the assailants have run in and shot him multiple times and consequently now he is deceased,' he said.
'He's basically driven into his driveway, hasn't even gotten out of his car and has been executed.
The 48-year-old's body was discovered in a car on Cox Road at about 12.10am on Monday
Bowden was ambushed in a Melbourne driveway on July 1, just two weeks after making a glitzy exit from Loddon Prison prison after a five-year stint for a violent home invasion

Detective Superintendent Smith said it was likely the targeted shooting was carried out by members within Bowden's own Mongols club.
'It obviously makes things harder when these types of gangs are involved because they have their own code of silence.
'It's important that people understand that these gangs are criminals … that survive on retribution, violence and threats and if anyone thinks anything otherwise they're an idiot.
'Nobody deserves to die in this manner but, you live by the sword, you die by the sword.'
It is believed Bowden was trying to reassert his power within the gang upon his release and was seeking 'revenge' after being attacked in a separate drive-by shooting in Melbourne.
The outlaw motorcycle gang enforcer was released from jail earlier this year after a five-year stint behind bars for a violent home invasion.

He left Loddon Prison in regional Victoria in a white stretch limousine joined by an entourage of Mongols bikies including the club's new boss Toby Mitchell.
But just two weeks after his release from jail he was ambushed in a Melbourne driveway in a separate drive-by shooting,
He was diagnosed with coronavirus while in hospital in Melbourne awaiting surgery for the gunshot wounds, but was cleared by Victorian authorities on August 21.
On August 22 he tested positive to a second test but was not infectious.
Bowden, who was once part of the Finks' 'terror team', made headlines again after providing false information on his border declaration while fleeing to Queensland.
He briefly sparked fears of a coronavirus outbreak after breaching his quarantine by travelling from Victoria and was fined $750 for the breach.

Bowden's latest stint behind bars was for a home invasion in South Yarra in 2015.
Bowden and then-girlfriend and Hollywood fitness model Janet 'Aysen Unlu' Campbell were charged with aggravated assault and robbery.
During the attack Bowden stormed into the home wearing night vision goggles armed with a hunting knife, demanding cash from the terrified occupants.
He kicked one of the victims in the face and stomped on a man's head before fleeing with around $700 in cash, reported The Age.
The pair were dressed in all camouflage and hiding behind a tree less than a kilometre from the home when they were arrested by police.
Campbell narrowly avoided prison.
She pleaded guilty and was sentenced to an 18 month community correction order.

The model and celebrity trainer, who once worked with Britney Spears and Beyonce, lost a tooth in the ugly incident.
When she appeared in court, Campbell told the judge she had 'fell in with the wrong people' after returning to Melbourne from the United States.
While Bowden was behind bars, he still managed to attract attention after a racey photograph of a prison-guard was found inside his jail cell at Port Phillip Prison in 2017.
The prison stint, isn't his first time behind bars either, with Bowden having spent seven years in jail after an infamous bikie brawl in Queensland in 2006.
When he was a member of the Finks club he shot Melbourne bikie Christopher Wayne Hudson during a scuffle at the Royal Pines Resort during a kick-boxing tournament.
