'Pippi Longstocking' arrest, It isn't often that the words "Pippi Longstocking arrest" begin trending and make any form of sense, but it has now happened. TMZ reported on Saturday, April 13, 2013, that Tami Erin, the actress that played the pig-tailed character, was booked on assault charges this past Thursday after allegedly beating up her roommate in northern California.
The Walnut Creek police department reports that Erin was placed under citizen's arrest by a neighbor who heard the former child star and her male roommate arguing.
Police went on to say that at some point, the roommate called out for help. That's when the neighbor rushed over to the scene and place Erin under citizen's arrest until the police could arrive to truly take her into custody.
Erin was booked for assault and released on Friday morning.
The victim had no visible injuries and the case was eventually turned over to the district attorney for review.
The 38-year-old Erin began acting and modeling at the young age of eight. She had done commercials for Equal, Cheerios, Nestle, and numerous other companies. When she auditioned for the role of "Pippi Longstocking," she was chosen out of 8,000 other applicants.
