Oklahoma QB transfer

Oklahoma QB transfer, Former Oklahoma quarterback Drew Allen is transferring to Syracuse, according to a report by NBC Sports.

Allen will transfer after he graduates from Oklahoma in May, a Syracuse source told the Syracuse Post-Standard. Because he has graduated, Allen will be eligible to play immediately. He will have one season of eligibility.

The 6-5, 226-pound Allen, a highly prized recruit out of San Antonio Alamo Heights, reportedly chose between Syracuse and North Carolina State.

Allen appeared in 12 games for OU and attempted just 30 passes.

After filling a reserve role behind Landry Jones, Allen was released from his scholarship by OU in January.

Oklahoma is still searching for a new starter to replace the NFL-bound Jones. Blake Bell, Kendal Thompson and Trevor Knight are contending for the job in spring practices.
