Madonna and Angelina Jolie buried the hatchet last week – in the name of a good cause.
Angelina, 37, who has criticised Madonna’s unusual adoption methods in the past, got in touch with the Material Girl to applaud her efforts helping young women in the Third World access education.
Last week Madonna vowed to sell her Fernand Léger painting Trois Femmes À La Table Rouge – worth about £4million – and use the profits to help girls’ education in Pakistan and Afghanistan via her charity The Ray of Light Foundation.

Just days later, long-time UN ambassador Angelina donated £130,000 to the Malala Fund, a charity set up by Malala Yousafzai, the 15-year-old Pakistani schoolgirl shot by the Taliban for asserting her right to an education. 
‘Angelina got in contact with Madonna’s camp to support and applaud her efforts. This has long been a passion of hers and she was glad to see another major celebrity doing something about it in such a public way.
'Clearly it’s a cause that both women are passionate about. They would make a powerful collaboration.’
Madonna, 54, is currently in Malawi with her two adopted children, David Banda, seven, and Mercy James, eight, and her children Lourdes, 16, and Rocco, 12.

A spokesman at Jenny Packham said: ‘I wish I could comment but I can’t.’

Tamzin Merchant's regrets over Game of Thrones

Actress Tamzin Merchant, 26, is kicking herself for turning down a major role in fantasy blockbuster Game Of Thrones, after Series 3 premiered to record ratings last week.

The ‘corset-crew’ actress, right, who is dating actor Freddie Fox, played exiled queen Daenerys Targaryen in a 2011 pilot, but then quit. Instead, Emilia Clarke made the role her own.

‘Tamzin is avoiding the show and any talk of it,’ says a source. ‘She is finding it difficult to cope with the show’s success. Everyone knows not to mention it in front of her, particularly now Emilia is making waves onstage on Broadway too.’
