Meryl Streep has landed a nomination for Best Actress for her
performance as Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady and is up against
Michelle Williams for her role in My Week With Marilyn.
Williams has been nominated for a second year in a row – her
performance in Blue Valentine lost out to Natalie Portman’s in Black
Swan last year – and it’s thought she could have more luck this year.
Saying that, Streep has been up a record 16 times and the critics (i.e.
people who go to the cinema and, like, really enjoy it) reckon she will

With Marilyn. He said today: "It was a rare honour to play Sir Laurence
Olivier. To be recognised by the Academy for doing so is overwhelming.
I'm absolutely thrilled."

best film, best actor for French star Jean Dujardin and supporting
