Thousands of anti-vaxxer protestors including children throw plastic balls at the gates of Downing Street on march through London to oppose jabbing under-18s

Hundreds of anti-vaxxers have marched through the streets of London today accompanied by their children as they campaign against the Covid jab.

Pictures from the scene show crowds armed with placards bearing slogans including 'leave our children alone' and 'hands off our children' as they made their way through the capital.

The protestors marched along the banks of the River Thames, past the London Eye before arriving at Downing Street where they chanted 'save our children'.

Videos from the scene showed people throwing colourful plastic balls through the gates of Downing Street and chanting 'Boris is a wet wipe'.

Some demonstrators shouted at police officers who were guarding Downing Street this afternoon.

Children were pictured alongside their parents holding up makeshift banners with signs that read: 'Boris leave us kids alone' and 'I do not consent!'

Vaccine's minister Nadhim Zahawi previously said the Government had niggling concerns about the 'very rare' cases of heart inflammation in some young people given the Pfizer and Moderna jabs.

Currently, children in the UK will only get a Covid vaccine if they are over 12 and extremely vulnerable. They may also get the vaccine if they live with someone at risk.

Earlier this month, the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation expanded the eligibility from vulnerable 16 and 17-year-olds, but said a universal vaccination of children would be too risky.

The advisory body said: 'The health benefits in this population are small, and the benefits to the wider population are highly uncertain.

'At this time, JCVI is of the view that the health benefits of universal vaccination in children and young people below the age of 18 years do not outweigh the potential risks.'

The Pfizer vaccine has been authorised for people aged 12 years and over in the UK by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency.

NHS England estimates that approximately 2.7 million adults under the age of 30 have yet to get a jab.

Young men are more likely to go unvaccinated than women. Only 62.2 per cent of males in the 18-24 age group have received at least one vaccination.

And there are reportedly nine local authorities in England in which less than half of 18 to 24-year-olds are estimated to have received a first dose of vaccine.

Earlier this month, Boris Johnson was said to have been 'raging' about the relatively low uptake of Covid vaccines in young people and suggested compulsory vaccine passports for university students.

The latest NHS England figures show less than 60per cent of 18 to 24-year-olds have had one Covid injection, compared to rates of above 90 per cent in most older age groups.

At the same time, the virus is sweeping through younger age groups, with case rates among those in their 20s higher than any age group since the pandemic began.

But Mr Johnson is likely to be challenged by those within his own party who are against vaccine passports and compare the proposals to a dystopia.

Last weekend, thousands of campaigners as well as David Icke, Piers Corbyn, Katie Hopkins and Kate Shemirani took to Trafalgar Square for the Worldwide Rally for Freedom.

Anti-vaccination protests were also held in other major European cities on Saturday, with Parisians pushing back against Emmanuel Macron's plans to introduce compulsory jabs and Covid passports.

Thousands of anti-vaxxers took to the streets of Paris today to protest against the introduction of compulsory jabs for healthcare workers and vaccine passports on August 9.

Some 3,000 security forces were deployed around the French capital for a third Saturday of protests.

Polls show a majority of French people support the pass, but some are adamantly opposed and photos from the French capital show thousands of anti-vaxxers demonstrating across the city this afternoon.

The pass requires vaccinations or a quick negative test or proof of a recent recovery from COVID-19 and mandates vaccinations for all health care workers by mid-September.
