Look who it is! Trump wears his MAGA cap to play his first game of golf as ex-president - and Nancy says: 'Thank God he's gone!'

Donald Trump is spending his first day returning to life as a private citizen on his West Palm Beach club golf course as Nancy Pelosi celebrates his departure from Washington.

The former president's favorite pastime is golf, and he often spent his vacations away from the White House on his courses whether in Florida, New Jersey or some other Trump-brand club around the world.

Trump wore his signature red 'Make America Great Again' hat as he golfed and was transported to his course via government motorcade from his Mar-a-Lago club – he and wife Melania's new home.

Also spotted at Mar-a-Lago on Thursday was Lara Trump walking the grounds in a white bikini.

Lara is married to Trump's middle son Eric – and has been rumored to be considering a Senate run in her home state of North Carolina in 2022.

'The president of the United States committed an act of incitement of insurrection,' Pelosi said during her weekly briefing. 'I don't think it's very unifying to say, oh, let's just forget it and move on. That's not how you unify.'

'Just because he's now gone — thank God — you don't say to a president, 'Do whatever you want in the last months of your administration. You're going to get a get-out-of-jail card free' because people think you should make nice, nice, and forget that people died here on January 6,' she told reporters.

Pelosi and House Democrats are preparing to deliver the article of impeachment against Trump to the Senate 'soon.'

After the article for 'incitement of insurrection' is sent to the upper chamber, the second impeachment trial against the former president will commence.

Pelosi could deliver that article to the senate as soon as Friday, according to lawmakers and aides, which would set up a trial to start the next day in a weekend Senate session.

'They've now informed us they're ready to receive,' Pelosi told reporters of Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell as the two work toward a power-sharing agreement in a 50-50 split Senate.

She also said there are 'other questions about how a trial will proceed.'

'I'm not going to be telling you when it was going,' Pelosi added.

Democrats believe Trump is to blame for the storming of the Capitol on January 6 as Congress worked to certify the election and Electoral College results for Joe Biden.

The House voted last Wednesday, along with 10 Republican defectors, to impeach Trump for his alleged involvement in inciting the riot – making him the first president to be impeached twice.

Trump departed from Washington on Wednesday morning, hours before Biden was inaugurated.

He issued several dozen pardons in his final day as president, but decided against granting preemptive clemency for him, any of his family members or those involved in the mob who stormed the Capitol weeks earlier.

Legal experts and close aides to Trump advised him that granting such pardons would inflame investigators and have an appearance of guilt as Democrats are already looking to place blame on him for the deadly protest.
