Porsche driver Richard Pusey rushed to hospital after rooftop stand-off with police who raided his home - as he awaits trial for allegedly filming dying police officers following freeway crash

The Porsche driver accused of taunting a dying cop after a horrific crash that killed four officers has been taken to hospital after a rooftop stand-off with police.

Richard Pusey, 41, was pulled over by police for allegedly speeding at 149km/h down the Eastern Freeway in Kew, Melbourne, in April while under the influence of methamphetamine and cannabis.

A truck veered into the emergency lane and hit four officers while they were testing the mortgage broker for drugs and impounding his car.

The 42-year-old then allegedly filmed the crash site and verbally abused Senior Constable Lynette Taylor as she lay dying.

Pusey, who is out on bail, was charged with 12 offences including driving at a dangerous speed and reckless conduct endangering life.

On Sunday at 11.30pm, police were called to Pusey's $3.4million warehouse home in St David Street in Fitzroy after neighbours heard yelling and windows being smashed.

The Critical Incident Response Team couldn't gain entry to the home so had to force their way in, police say.

The heavily-armed officers found Pusey on the roof, and negotiated with him until he surrendered to police 'without incident,' Victoria Police told Daily Mail Australia.

The area around the home was cordoned off during the bizarre incident.

Pusey has been taken to hospital for an assessment.

A woman, who was at the home at the time, was uninjured and is assisting police with their investigation.

Police allege Mr Pusey, a mortgage broker, was driving his $150,000 Porsche at 149km/h with MDMA and cannabis in his system on Melbourne's Eastern Freeway on April 22 when he was stopped by officers.

A refrigeration truck ploughed into the group of police standing at the roadside, killing four officers, before Pusey allegedly took pictures and video of the grisly scene and fled on foot.

The driver of the truck, Mohinder Singh, was charged with four counts of culpable driving, he reportedly remained at the scene wailing as emergency services arrived.

Pusey's barrister Vincent Peters previously claimed his client didn't help Leading Senior Constable Taylor as she lay under the truck because he was in shock and a doctor was on the scene.

He filmed the scene for more than three minutes and can be heard on the video berating the officer about the damage to his car on the video before he fled the scene, police allege.

Constable Glen Humphris, Senior Constable Kevin King and Constable Josh Prestney were also killed in the tragedy.

Magistrate Jo Metcalf labelled Pusey's alleged filming of the graphic crash scene as 'highly intrusive and morally repugnant' but noted it was not illegal.

The court was previously told Pusey took 'disturbing pleasure' inflicting discomfort on others, displayed 'violent tendencies' towards the public and police, and had 'absolutely no regard for the safety of other road users'.

The Melbourne businessman holds a property portfolio worth more than $12million, which includes a West Melbourne terrace worth $1.35million, a $1.32million Doncaster East residence, and a $1.27million house in the coastal suburb of Bonbeach.

The warehouse home at the centre of the police stand-off was spraypainted with the word 'die' in the days after Pusey fled the scene of the crash.
