Jon Voight says President Trump 'is the only man that can save this nation' as he blasts California Gov. Gavin Newsom over his statewide coronavirus curfew

Actor Jon Voight declared that President Trump was 'the only man who can save this nation' in an impassioned plea against the Biden administration.

Voight made  the remarks on Twitter in a two minute-long video, in which the 81-year-old lofted praise onto Trump and suggested Democrats wanted to 'destroy America.'

While seated before an American flag, Voight calmly warns that 'we’re heading down a street that has no name now. We must not allow our nation to crumble.

'Let me warn you all that we are in great danger if we fall under a Biden administration.'

In his attack on Democrats, Voight takes direct aim at Gov. Gavin Newsom, who has faced criticism for his coronavirus restrictions and, most recently, a month-long 10pm curfew in California.

'Our state California is being ruled by a leftist mob, and Gov. Newsom is taking away our freedom – your freedom,' said Voight, an ardent Trump supporter and Republican.

'He is a disgrace to mankind. He and his relative, Nancy Pelosi, who has tried to bring President Trump down.

'Gov. Newsom has destroyed many lives of people who depended on their businesses, and now he wants to shut down again. He is a lie, like all the Left that are trying to destroy the USA. I ask all to fight this battle now, to get them out.'

Newsom, whose aunt was married to Nancy Pelosi's brother-in-law for 15 years per CalMatters, implemented the statewide curfew to curb coronavirus spread.

There has been an uptick in infections as cases reach more than 1.1million and the death toll tops 19,000.

But some residents have declared the order an infringement on their rights. Last week, dozens of pro-Trump supporters gathered along the Pacific Coast Highway to fight the restrictions.

'I think it's unlawful and unconstitutional. The government has stripped us of our civil rights, using the virus to do that,' said Alan Hostetter, who organized a curfew-breaking protest in San Clemente set for 10:01 p.m.

Voight argued in the video 'we must get Gov. Newsom out. He is destroying the people’s freedom. We must remember who we are.'

Voight, whose role in Midnight Cowboy and Deliverance catapulted him to Hollywood fame, then noted that he's faced scrutiny from his peers for being so outspoken.

'I’ve been attacked by my fellow peers, saying that I am preaching violence. When the truth is, they all are – the Left is burning and destroying our cities,' said Voight.

'We are willing to fight for freedom, not freedom to burn down the flag but to raise her up with this glory of the land of the free.'

He then added, 'Let the truth show itself that President Trump is the only man that can save this nation.'

This is not the first time Voight has publicly lauded Trump while blasting Democrats.

Like James Woods, Voight is among a group of Hollywood actors who've thrown their support behind Trump and broken ranks with other liberal-leaning figures.

Voight narrated a video that kicked off the first night of the Republican National Convention in August. In November 2019, Trump awarded Voight with a National Medal of Arts for his contributions to entertainment.

Before Election Day, Voight called Biden 'evil' and claimed indications that he had won the 2020 race was 'the biggest cover-up ever.'

This echoed comments from Trump, who said Friday that the Biden-Harris administration can only enter the Oval Office if they 'prove' the 80million votes were not fraudulent.

'Biden can only enter the White House as President if he can prove that his ridiculous “80,000,000 votes” were not fraudulently or illegally obtained. When you see what happened in Detroit, Atlanta, Philadelphia & Milwaukee, massive voter fraud, he’s got a big unsolvable problem!' Trump tweeted.

Trump has not conceded in the election despite Biden's leads with the electoral college and the popular vote.

The Trump campaign has leveled allegations of massive voter fraud, but have not produced evidence yet. State officials have claimed the election happened smoothly and attempts at a legal stance have sputtered.

Rudy Giuliani, the president's personal lawyer, emerged as the face of the legal proceedings this month. He's hosted press conferences, but they were bogged down by hair and venue malfunctions.

The Biden-Harris administration has attempted to push through, with Biden announcing intended nominees for national security positions.
