California man, 19, is arrested after being caught sticking swastika stickers around town by 21-year-old resident who confronted him on camera

A California man, 19, has been arrested after being caught sticking Nazi stickers around town by a 21-year-old resident who confronted him on camera.

The male suspect, whose identity is being withheld by police, was captured on smartphone footage putting the racist symbols around downtown Fairfax, Marin County, Tuesday.

Noah Mohan, 21, who lives in Fairfax, spotted him plastering stickers with swastikas and the phrase 'We Are Everywhere' on them around the town.

He filmed the incident, telling the 19-year-old 'not in my city' as he ripped the hateful stickers off.

Police arrested the suspect and confirmed he is an out-of-towner from Livermore in Alameda County.

The 9-minute footage of the encounter has since gone viral on social media.

It shows Mohan, who is half-Jewish, confronting the out-of-town visitor and asking what he is putting up around his town.

Mohan said he was out walking his dog with his girlfriend at the time.

'Let me see your stickers?' he says to the suspect, a white male, sporting dark jeans, black leather jacket, black face mask and sunglasses.

When he sees what the stickers are, Mohan tells him: 'Don't be putting that up in my f***ing town, bro?'

The suspect tells Mohan he is putting them up because he ' in the ideology'.

The footage continues as the suspect walks away with Mohan following and telling him: 'Putting up Nazi stickers in Fairfax? Let me see your face, bro. You keep putting them up if you want and I will keep ripping them off.'

He is later heard telling the suspect 'not in my city bro' and 'go back to your car' to which the 19-year-old replies: 'Why? So you can take a picture of my license plate?'

Fairfax police were called to the scene.

Police confirmed they had detained the man in the photos and video and that he was an out-of-towner.

Mohan's footage is being used as evidence in the case, they said.

The case has been referred to the Marin County District Attorney's office for charges of hate crimes and vandalism to be filed.

Mohan, an amateur boxer, told ABC7 he was 'not a hero' but was just 'doing what is right' to defend his town.

'For him to come and put up Nazi stickers in a place where he doesn't even live and in the middle of the day? Thinking no one would do anything about it? That is crazy to me,' he said.

'If I had hit him, I would be the one in jail in cuffs,' said Mohan. 'It's just right and wrong. I am not a hero. Just doing what is right.'
