Daft and Furious: Moment boy racer event becomes brutal battleground after YouTube star goads rival over his car's top speed

Footage has captured the moment a mass brawl erupted at a car meet after a YouTube star goaded a rival over whose vehicle was the fastest.

The Vmax200 car meet at the Kendrew Barracks in Rutland, East Midlands, on October 24 descended into chaos as groups of drivers began fighting each other.

Shocking video from the event - which sees sports car owners try to reach top speeds in their vehicles - shows a group of men arguing over who had driven the fastest.

YouTube star DMO Deejay identified as himself as the person who was punched first and claims it was sparked when he went over to gloat to his rival, 'my car dusted yours'.

The brawl saw one man's head smashed against a car and another kicked in the face

DMO Deejay posted a video to his 319,000 subscribers claiming he 'had just stuffed his face and wasn't looking to fight'.

The YouTube star admitted he approached the man to gloat over clocking a top speed of 209mph, beating his rival's 207mph.

DMO Deejay confessed: 'Let me defend myself at least. I'm not going to sit there and get f***ing beaten up am I? What would you do if you was in that situation ?

'At no point did I call anyone to help. Automatically someone else has jumped in to put their two pence in too.'

In July, DMO Deejay was slammed for bringing the M60 to a standstill to pose for photos with a convoy of cars driving from Telford in Shropshire, to Manchester.

Vmax200 began in 2002 before being purchased by the supercar club Auto Vivendi in 2014 and holds four car meets at Kendrew Barracks each year.

In response to the fights, Vmax200 said in a statement: 'Like so many of you who attended our event today and for those who watched on social media, we were disgusted by the disturbance caused by a small minority of people at today's event.

'We will not tolerate such behaviour and will provide full support to the authorities to enable them to identify and deal with the perpetrators.

'Vmax200 has been a friendly, good-spirited event for real car enthusiasts for over 18 years. We will ensure those who caused problems today will never return as we do not want them as part of our Vmax200 family.'

Craig Williams, managing director of Vmax200, added: 'The team at VMAX200 work hard to ensure the safety of the people attending our events, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic when it is so important to follow social distancing rules.

'The altercations were isolated incidents. We worked closely with, and at all times followed the advice of, Leicestershire Police on the day and we continue to assist them with the ongoing investigation.'

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: 'One person reported sustaining minor injuries and enquiries are continuing into the incident and the circumstances leading up to it. No arrests have been made.'

DMO Deejay has been approached for a comment.
