The smiles that just don't fit: Freaky faces of animals given HUMAN mouths

t's certainly enough to put a smile on your face.

Many pet owners wish they knew what their animal was thinking - and these pictures give a glimpse of how the creature might be feeling.

Forget puppy dog eyes or the narrow glare of a cat, these pictures show what animals would look like if they had human eyes, mouths and teeth.

From the startled-looking insect gnashing it's teeth, to the grinning owl and the disturbed-looking kitten, these extraordinary pictures show just how odd animals would look like with human mouths.

A normally adorable-looking puppy gets given a wide-eyed look with a pain smile, while an owl smirks into the camera

All the images were made using a variety of inventive Lucy Barcroft and her sister's facial features.

Say what? This disturbed-looking kitten looks shocked as its human jaw drops open

This puppy may look cute with its t-shirt, but it turns heads for all the wrong reasons with it's wide-eyed stare and grimaced mouth

Ruffling some feathers: This owl looks positively creepy with its staring eyes and clenched-teeth

This cat looks most displeased with its new makeover - but at least its teeth are bright and white

This down in the dumps feline looks blue - perhaps a cat nap would put a smile on her face

Bug eyes! This insect is given a dramatic new look - and by the sneer of the mouth, isn't too happy about it

Pucker up, pooch! This beagle looks bizarre with a human mouth - hopefully they don't have dog breath
