Mom, 25, 'stood by as her boyfriend beat her 5-year-old son to death because she was too eager to be in a relationship'
A couple have been arrested in Florida on suspicion of child abuse resulting in death after the body of a five-year-old boy was found in the Colorado mountains last week, about a month after authorities believe he was beaten to death in Texas.
The remains of Domenic Patrick Aguilar-Acevedo were discovered last Wednesday in a deep ravine near Fraser, according to an arrest warrant filed in Bexar County, Texas.
According to the complaint, the boy’s mother, Nickolle Cristina Aguilar, 25, told authorities that her boyfriend, Daniel Garcia, 26, on July 24 threw the boy against the wall in a hotel room in San Antonio, and he started vomiting a black and brown liquid substance.

Nickolle Cristina Aguilar, 25 , and her boyfriend, Daniel Garcia, 26 , have been arrested on suspicion of child abuse resulting in death stemming from the beating death of Aguilar's five-year-old son
Documents allege family were staying at this hotel in San Antonio, Texas, last month when Garcia allegedly threw Demonic Aguilar-Acevedo, 5, against the wall, killing him
FBI agents discovered the body's body in a deep ravine in Colorado on August 25
Agents were led to the ravine by Aguilar and her mother, who contacted the FBI
Aguilar said she stood by and did nothing to stop Garcia from hurting her child 'because she was too eager to be in a relationship,' the document stated, as reported by CBS Denver.
The following day, Aguilar said she and Garcia left the hotel without formally checking out, drove to Colorado, camped near Rocky Mountain National Park and buried her son’s lifeless body near their campsite, according to the warrant.
The couple then drove south to Mexico and then made their Costa Rica, according to the filing.
Aguilar allegedly later told her mother what had happened to Domenic and her mother contacted San Antonio police and the FBI, the document said.
On August 25, Aguilar and her mother led FBI agents to the remote campsite in Colorado, where Domenic's body was found in a ravine. According to the document, the child's remains, still clad in the same clothing he had on the day he died, were exposed to the elements and animal activity for nearly a month.
Aguilar allegedly claimed she failed to stop her boyfriend from harming her son 'because she was too eager to be in a relationship.' The 25-year-old also has a four-year-old daughter
The final results of Domenic's autopsy are still pending, but the examination found evidence of trauma, reported Colorado Springs Gazette.
Aguilar and Garcia were arrested in Florida a day apart last week with the help of the US Marshals Service. It is unknown at this time how they ended up there, or why.
During an interview with detectives, Aguilar allegedly said she and Garcia did not report her son's death because they did not want to lose custody of their other children.
According to social media posts, Aguilar has at least one other child, a daughter who was born in September 2017.
Aguilar and Garcia are facing extradition back to Texas.
