'Drunk' boat skipper, 25, is arrested over 1am crash into Long Island jetty that threw friend overboard and who is still missing
A man, 25, has been arrested for operating a boat while intoxicated after it crashed into a Long Island jetty and threw a man overboard who is missing.
Jack Benjamin, 25, of Farmingville, was arrested and charged with boating while intoxicated following the crash in the Great South Bay in Sayville, which occurred at about 1:25 a.m. on Monday according to Suffolk County police.
According to police, the man missing, who's identity has not been released, was not wearing a life jacket and was thrown overboard as a result of the crash.

Following the crash, Benjamin and a female passenger were transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore where they were treated and released
Suffolk County Police officers, along with personnel from multiple fire departments and the United States Coast Guard, conducted a search for the man who remains missing.

The three additional passengers on boat were not hurt.
