Biden urges Democrat Rep. Maxine Waters to run for the SENATE, tells Nancy Pelosi to 'keep it up' and jokes 'I should be careful what I say' during series of hot mic moments at bill signing

President Joe Biden pushed for Democrat California Rep. Maxine Waters to run for the Senate and told House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to 'keep it up' during a series of hot mic moments at a bill signing on Wednesday night.

'Senator, I hope. You think I'm kidding, I'm not,' Biden said Wednesday when speaking to Waters about her future and Illinois Democratic Rep. Jesus 'Chuy' Garcia.

Waters, 82, seemed surprised and then shrugged her shoulders.

The Republican National Committee jumped on the comment and slammed Biden for suggesting he wanted the 'far-left, anti-police' Waters to go for the upper house.

Waters sparked outrage in April when she told protesters in Minneapolis to 'stay on the street', be 'more confrontational' and that she wanted a guilty verdict before the end of Derek Chauvin's trial.

The judge in the murder trial Peter Cahill said Waters' incendiary comments may have given Chauvin grounds for appeal that could have resulted in the 'whole trial being overturned'.

On Tuesday she said protests against police brutality and racial injustice are about battling a 'tradition' in law enforcement that has to be 'done away with'.

Biden also whispered to Pelosi 'hey, by the way, keep it up on —' before his mic dropped during the ceremony where he signed three bills.

The signings dismantled Trump policies blocking payday lenders from avoiding caps on interest rates, restricting climate-warming greenhouse gas emissions from oil and gas drilling and ending rules on how the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission settles claims.

The pair have clashed over how to pass Biden's $1.2trillion infrastructure bill and a possible reconciliation package that could lead to $6trillion in extra spending.

During the ceremony the president joked about wearing a mic while speaking to groups of lawmakers and said: 'I better be careful what I say.'

Illinois Democratic Rep. Jan Schakowsky also offered Biden her condolences after the death of his German shepherd Champ this month at the age of 13.

'Tell you what, it's a killer, isn't it? Thank you for saying that,' he replied.

Waters referred to the White House as the 'the White Supremacists' House' during the Trump administration and urged protesters to 'create a crowd' if they ever saw Trump cabinet members out in public.

'Senator, I hope. You think I'm kidding, I'm not,' Biden said Wednesday when speaking to Waters about her future and Rep. Jesus 'Chuy' Garcia, D-Ill
