Sarah Jessica Parker and husband Matthew Broderick sell their West Village townhouse for $15 million after buying it for just under $3M in 2000
Hollywood stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick made a sizeable profit with the recent sale of their West Village townhouse.
The couple owned the townhouse on Charles Street since 2000, when they bought it for $2.995million.
The red-brick townhouse is three stories tall and encompasses around 4,182 square feet. It has a brownstone base and a stoop.
The Wall Street Journal reports the couple sold the townhouse for $15 million. The identity of the buyer hasn't been disclosed, but it was bought through a limited liability company.

The sale of the townhouse comes as a surprise, as it wasn't listed for sale publicly.
Privately, however, there have been rumors about a sale of the townhouse coming for almost a year.
The New York Post reported in January 2020 that the couple was quietly shopping the townhouse, which was built around 1905, without officially putting it on the market.
In the two decades they've had the townhouse, Parker and Broderick have renovated it significantly to the tune of millions of dollars.
This is not the first real estate move Parker and Broderick have made in New York City over the last few years.

It's unclear who purchased the townhouse, as the private buyer was not disclosed
In 2016, they bought two townhouses on West 11th Street, which cost the couple a combined $34.5 million. The two townhouses are being combined to form one big mansion for the family.
Parker and Broderick have been married for over 23 years and share three children together: son James and twin daughters Marion and Tabitha.
The couple were set to star in the Broadway revival of Plaza Suite beginning in April 2020, but that was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The new hope is that the revival will begin in March 2021, depending on when Broadway opens back up.
