Grim find as tourists stumble over a rotting body in bushland near a mysterious camper van - as police hunt the young man's killer

A man's body has been found by tourists in dense bushland.

The two tourists made the horrifying discovery near Preston-Boundary Road in Preston, west of Brisbane, just before 9.00am on Thursday.

The body was later identified as a 28-year-old man from Toowoomba.

A van with solar panels on its roof and green P-plates was also found at the site. 

Police established a crime scene and are treating the man's death as suspicious. 

Investigators and scientific officers are also at the scene. 

Officers are investigating whether the victim was killed before being taken to the bushland.

They are urging anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
