David Hasselhoff puts his own 'fully functional' Knight Rider K.I.T.T. car up for auction... and even offers to deliver it to the buyer himself

David Hasselhoff is selling his own fully functional replica of the famous Knight Rider K.I.T.T. car which he will personally deliver if the price is right.

The custom '82 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, one of the most iconic automobiles in screen history, is going under hammer with another 150 items from the Baywatch star at LiveAuctioneers of Calabasas, California.

The Hoff, who now lives in Britain, has pledged to drive the black muscle car to its new owner if the price exceeds the reserve by 25 percent and pre-auction bids for the Trans Am have already rocketed to $375,000 – a cool $75,000 higher than the upper estimate with another 18 days to go until the hammer falls. 

Also up for grabs is 'Lunch with the Hoff,' a meal with the 68-year-old Baywatch star estimated to fetch up to $20,000 and an enormous figurine of the actor from the Spongebob movie for $1 million.

The K.I.T.T. car, the star of the show, is a true 80s classic which is exemplified in the futuristic sleek angles of its blade-like hood which run forward to a grille through which the evocative red lights of the Knight Rider shine.

The driver's seat is more like an aircraft cockpit than a car's with a heads up display filled by electronic speedometers, a graphical display of the vehicle and light-up buttons galore.

Other items include his stage-worn wardrobe, awards, scripts and photographs to delight his millions of fans.

And if that's not enough, the Hoff is even offering a lunch date with himself as the guest of honour in Los Angeles.

An expert on some of the city's best restaurants, the Hoff will kindly pick up the tab for the one-on-one meal, with an estimate for 'Lunch with the Hoff' starting at $10,000 and going up to $20,000.

As well as the K.I.T.T. car another two sets of wheels owned by the Hoff are up for grabs including his classic 1961 Mercedes-Benz SL190 (est. $60,000-$90,000), and a rare, Hoff-autographed Knight Rider pedal car (est. $400-$500).

The Hoff will be donating a portion of the profits to some of his favourite charities.

Hasselhoff recently joined up with Austrian duo CueStack to try his hand at some heavy metal.

The actor has been working with the rockers since 2018 on their latest record, 'Through the Night.'
